Oh the language of the young !! Most teenagers in and out my home usually grunt a greeting or goodbye. Now and then you hear an "alright Bill".

Re texting and calling your kids back T and others have seen No 1 son sending over a 1000 texts in a month. :slayer:

Part of the reason for txt spEk (sic). is the fact that you are limited to the amount of characters in a message so in some cases it makes sense to abbreviate and shorten any words, but.............the forum has no such restrictions so why bother.

....so text speak is to save writing 2 texts thus saving 8p.........yet we all gonna get shafted another 40% on energy bills:confused: Maybe energy companies should give us a free text for every £5 we spend a year which would equal around 5,831 free texts a year!

Back on topic, re handbrake, mine was coming up high and DET drove car out of workshop and mentioned to me about it, he checked and as he suspected a duff rear caliper.Ok on footbrake but not pulling handbrake fully on one side, new caliper fitted under warranty and good as new again!(y)

I'm young and I don't speak like a hoodie.

That texting thing is no excuse, I'm on Orange with Unlimited Text's and send about 1500-2000 a month, and although I use text-talk on them, it never carries over to this forum.

kk? ttyl bbz xox

got it booked in for monday

no other errors, don't have blue and me (its a 2006 active - basic factory spec)

I'm going to insist on speaking to the tech as I want to know exactly what it is they are checking when I take it in. Last time apparently the body computer was reprogrammed (it was replaced earlier this year after a complete failure).

Milage flashing with a vengence AGAIN!

I had this problem a while back, which the dealer struggled to diagnose as the fault/error code seemed to change each time they looked at it. How ever after the guy from Fiat Uk come out and looked at it, the problem was traced back to the conversions unit(?) and once this was changed the milage stopped flashing and all was well.. .

How ever after going to Le mans 24 hours and leaving it parked in a field for 5 days, the milage started flashing again :( Back to the dealers it went and once again they are struggling to diagnose whats wrong. How ever this time when starting up from cold it can sometimes struggle slightly and turn over a few times before finally kicking into life and when it does it is usually followed by a plume of white smoke out of the exhuast

So i dont really know what could be wrong, i have it booked back into the garage to stay there for a week so they can look at it again. Just wondered if anyone else here had experienced this kinda problem and had it solved so i could suggest it to the dealer.

Also i dunno if T or any of the other tech guys know anything?

Cheers Bob

Re: Milage flashing with a vengence AGAIN!

When i took it back a week or so ago the tech guy who usually help me a lot (the guy who i think you spoke to once T) He said the first thing they checked was the convergence unit as thats what it was last time and it was ok.. .

He did mention a body computer update that they are waiting on from Fiat Italy, but have no idea when they are going to get it :S

But im kinda worried it has actually got a fault now from this slight struggle for it to start up, do you think this could be a proper fault T?

Re: Milage flashing with a vengence AGAIN!

My fault is a bit different to what you have.. .
My dials and guages have never failed and i have never had any warning lights on
All i get is the milage flashing when first started, if i then turn the car off and restart the milage does not flash anymore.. .

I've had a number of proxy allignments it dont solve anything thats been wrong with my punto, the only difference this time the car struggles to start up from cold now and does the white smoke as i described.

With the puntos you have seen T did they have the struggling start up and flashing milage?
