well i picked my M-jet up on tuesday, just a few things that are apparent to me.. after looking through the hand book i see about the glow plugs, yuor meant to wait for the "squiggle" to go out. Then start, do you start your car straight away or wait for this? also when starting the car churns a few time before it fires up? Is this normal?

and then when in reverse, OMG in drown/creeks light a b**** although i did read another thread about this, but couldnt find it anymore? what was the cure was it simple not sure if i can be arsed to take it to the dealer for the day if its something i can do when i have the wheels off to paint me calipers?

There are at least a few threads about this and opinion is divided as to whether you should wait till the lights go out before starting. Personally, I can spare a few seconds for the car to do its thing.

There's one here - https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-technical/88403-reverse-grind.html

Its normal.

i can wait a few seconds for it to do its thing.. it just dosent spark up straight away if that makes sence! It turnover a few time before it fires up. Were as the stilo when you turned the key it was instant! Is this a diesel thing?

Mine does this its quite normal, it's a diesel thing. I always wait for the glow plug light (squiggle thing) to go out before startign mine. The glow plugs have to heat the diesel.
