Good afternoon everybody,
i got a quick question and need of some help!
I bought my new grande punto last week and on Friday some nice guy thought to crash my side mirrorin a tight road, driver side, and run off, was my lucky day and the mirror unit did not come off but the actual mirror got broken and now is in pieces with the heated unit showing off. I managed to order one in internet at half of the price of the one asked from the dealer but of course i will have to fix it myself this week. Do you have any idea how to do that? How to get rid of the old broken mirrow and replace it with the new one without braking the whole thing? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

is this an entire new unit you have ordered or just the glass?

yes is just the heated mirror, Fiat dealer qouted me 30 pounds for the part alone, bought it original from shop for parts at 16 pounds delivered!

i cant see it been too hard i cant get Eper to load at the moment (ben knows about it but is on his jollies)

it contains exploded diagrams for fiat cars and might hold the answer....

pull old glass off & push new one on (connected wires if fitted)

Electric Mirror glass is £17.44inc VAT at Fiats RRP

In case anybody else comes across this thread looking for advice in the future:

- cover broken mirror glass with sellotape to hold it in one piece
- using a wide flat instrument such as a knife, insert between mirror glass and housing and lever old glass off (its easy!)
- disconnect heating wires if applicable
- connect wires to new glass
- push new glass into mirror housing til you hear a click

hey presto job done in 5 mins if that!

clean mirror as you got fingerprints all over the glass

Yes the dealer asked me something like 25.50 pounds plus Vat just for the glass alone without labour!!!!!!!
That sounds good!!!
Paid 16.78 from Shop 4 parts included delivery and vat.
Fixed myself with rubber gloves to avoid fingerprints!!!

Wing mirror casing?

Hi guys,
i have jus lost the casing to my wing mirror to my grande punto sporting due to a my friend. ( a very bad driver). i am new to this site and would like to ask some questions?

-where can i get the casing to the wing mirror and how much would it be?
-do i have to get it sprayed orange?
-i also have some fine scratches from bushes at high speed will they t-cut out?
- and finally some one hit my very hard up the ars bumper n drove off, there was no damage but has this affect the car in any way.

if any one could get back to me with any infomation i would be more then grateful. thanks alot guys .
