Saying they were both driven by the stigg...

GP has 181.6 bhp @ 306 ft-lb + 1205KGs
vs
vRS has 173.2 bhp @ 290 ft-lb + Weight - 1315KGs

Which one would be fastest? don't be biased!

Not being biased but the figures say it all, the GP has better BHP, torque and weight.

So it has more bhp, more torque, less weight. Hmm.... (y) you know.

:ROFLMAO: Always good 'My car vs another make of car' threads. All I can presume after owning a remapped vRS is that there isn't going to be much in it between the two cars. They're both 1.9 turbo diesels with similiar performance figures in standard tune, a remap on both won't drastically change much between them.

From what the peeps reckon on Briskoda a remap takes the 0-60 down to just over 7 seconds..so it's at least on a par out of the blocks with a GPS, probably quicker. Still handle like a Robin Reliant with that big heavy diesel lump, quite a bit heavier than the GPS engine I believe.

Seen a guy **** all over a remapped Fabia Vrs in a pretty much standard C2 VTS on a trackday up at Anglesey. 180bhp Skoda v 135bhp VTS - Not even close....

Might have plenty of power but the Fabias still look and go like sh!te.

So the Punto stands even less of a chance than the vRS against a C2??? :D

Whatever the figures, other people's opinions and what it can and can't beat... if the car in your hands drives how you want it to drive, who cares. I still miss mine sometimes even though now I drive a car in a different league in terms of performance. The diesel power delivery was addictive, shame it only lasted 3-4k rpm :p :p

If we're going to do this thread... then we need specifics! track? quarter mile? Dry road? Ice?

There is so much more to a car than bhp/torque.

Agreed. Number crunching doesn't hold the answer.

You need to know weight, gear ratios, handling, road conditions, track or not? strip or not?

Too many variables to make a statement saying that one is faster than the other without prior tests.
