The asr is always on and is never off unless you turn it off.

You will get better acceleration with the asr turned off.

Are you sure you are not turning it off every morning rather then on?

I've notced this aswell, I rarely turn it off unless its for a quick overtake or a drag from the lights lol, the amount of petrols my "van" has beaten is unbelievable lol.

I wouldn' reccomend keeping it off all the time though, your tires will last no where near as long, and it can be dangerous hitting corners at speed with no ASR on.

?? Mines always Off (lamp extinguished) unless I turn it On.... Even if I have it On and switch off the engine it automatically switches Off....

Having the asr off shortens time between changing gear and getting your foot down.

Its best to have it on during the lower gears then turning it off in higher gears. It won't make any difference to tyre wear in 4th, 5th and 6th. You won't be shredding rubber in these gears ;)

Ffoxy I think you are getting confused, the asr light is on when it is switched off. Look at your digital display when you press the button ;)

How quaintly Italian... a light comes on when somethings switched off....

Still cant tell much difference if any between On and Off for acceleration... must only really show up on the petrols...

I guess I FAIL....

Yeah, What Kris said. It tells you on you digi read out infront of you aswell.
ASR ON = No Light
ASR OFF = Illuminated Orange Lamp & Digi read out saying: ASR De-activated

Bloody Eyeties.... :)

I guess I FAIL....

You certainly do

Someone please tell me what ASR is and how to turn it off. Wanna try it

Press the ASR button on the dash and when the light comes On ASR is Off...

I think it stands for "Automatic Skid Reduction"... but I am no "Expert" on ASR... ( see above...)

...Anti Slip Regulation

I wonder what that means...? Slip is skid..? Innit? Or do they mean we got a physics defying sideways slip system? Regulation,... so it CONTROLS slip rather than prevents it... by reducing applied power based on differeing wheel speeds or what... c'mon Jug... :D

ASR is fiats name for traction control.

It can never fully prevent slip of the wheels but it tries to give you as much grip as possible.

Its not a system for preventing you flying sideways, that would be the ESPs department.

Traction control is useful in the lower gears to help get the power down but after that the performance will benefit from it being turned off.

How does this work Kris? I thought that if the power was put down better with it on then less wheel spin would mean better acceleration. Or is ASR better for damp/wet conditions only.
