Hi, i posted a thread yesterday about the need for speed front bumper and that i was interested in getting it fitted when my t-jet arrives. However, having looked around i have changed my mind and now prefer the formula 2 front lip. The reason is the nfs looks like it is just stuck on whereas with the formula 2 there is no visible point at where it is attached (does anybody know how this is, is it underneath as opposed to on the bumper like the nfs is)

you can see it from these photos

What are everybodys opinions on this?

Also, does everybody think there is no point in a rear skirt like the one below unless your changing to double tip exhaust or twin exhaust (will it look daft with the normal exhaust)

there has got to be a seem of some sort impossible not as its joined on to the existing bumper think they have cleverly diguised the seem.but remember its a lip where the nfspd valance is a lot more than a lip also the photo you show is professionally done in a studio correct lighting etc, etc.i would need to see one on the street like john loumis car before i made my mind up.THERE IS NEED FOR ANY REAR VALANCE ON GRANDE PUNTO ONES that have are ugly or hardly noticeable

Would a fiat bodyshop have the ability to smooth it in well or would it have to be done a specialist place? What price am i looking at for it to be sprayed, fitted and smoothed in? Any risk they could make a mess of bumper when smoothing it in?

cheers

Its just filler in the appropriate places. Any bodyshop worth anything will be able to do it for you.

Its only the same principle as when they put filler over rust patches, sand and smooth it and spray it over.

Dont think a fiat bodyshop would entertain fitting aftermarket parts to your car (i might be wrong) id of thought your best bet would be an independant or someone who specialises in more custom stuff, any bodyshop worth there wait should be able to smooth that no worries..........no ideas as to cost tho, i know it cost me roughly £700ish to have a whole bodykit fitted and sprayed on my Stilo, but that was a dont tell the taxman job

Fiat would probably do it.... at a cost.

Yes I agree, a specialist place will be cheaper and will have more experience in the kind of work you are looking for. Just remember dealerships are expensive places to have work done. Alot of bodywork fiat garages do is warranty or insurance related, so inflated prices follow.

I dont see the beauty/cost/benefit?

Giugiaro did a bril job straight out of the box, but I guess its each to his own in the search for individualism in a mass production world.

im not particularly after looking individual, i just want to improve on the worst aspect of the car looks wise, and this is the front

 You never saw the GP described as a mini Lambo at the front then?

Its gorgeous just exactly as it is, and remember when you come to sell you MAY be limiting your market as these days peeps think body kits are fitted to hide damage. No take no notice skinner05 its your baby, enjoy! :)

I wouldn't be worried about resale with a fiat supplied extra?

Its not a flycatcher style chavmobile mod and I actually think the NFS fron looks good. It stays with the lines and its how the bumper should have been on the sporting from factory.

no i didnt hear it described as that.Fair point about resale though

Reasonable point well presented :)

I still cant agree that the GP's worst point is its front end though!

do you think it needs to be smoothed in or looks ok as it is? i just cant help but think it looks stuck on but on the other hand i havent seen a photo where it is smoothed in so that could look no better.

what do you think its worst point is? do you agree it looks best from the side? i think it looks amazing side on, one of the best looking cars around

Heres a quick photoshop of the NFS front bumper smoothed to give you an idea. I think it looks really good.
