Haha. I like my number plates you bitches. Just kidding <3 Mucho Love.

I'm actually going to order those Italian ones, mmmm they are nice.

Stripes they're illegal. Get them off :) Did any watch Speed camera action last night? Very very informative. Top 5 illegal shizzle police look for.

1. Tints
2. Anyone?
3. Number Plates
4. Tinted/Lexus Lights?
5. Exhaust?

What I got from the number plate section was that them europl8 will be fine. So going to get some :D

your just giving the police a reason to stop you and look around the car more intensly for other offences.

Police don't need a reason to stop ypu...If you are using a motor vehicle on a road or other public place you can be legally stopped for no reason

Yes sadly we are the worlds premier democratic (sic) Police state

Blebo?
What are you views on dodgy plates mate?

Like... those UK registered cars with an Italian flag, name of the owner at the bottom, or a quote/statement (that isnt derogatory) NOT letters / number too small or gaps incorrect or reflective dodgy type plates. Those are clearly daft.

Just those that are clear, legible but nicely personalized... why should they provoke a Stop? And dont quote the "law" unless there are serious mitigating circumstances.

The DVLA is really pushing the Police forces to crack down on number plates and has recenlty launched a "campaign targeting misrepresented or indistinct number plates" To assist with the devlopment of ANPR etc as this relies on number plates being standard font, size and spacing to work.

There are good reason for this as it allows the momne tof terrorist/drug runners etc to be followed...therfore the Police and DVLA are taking the view that if you misrepresent your plate then you may have something ot hide.

Personally, I wouldn't stop you if you had a fiat badge or slogan (providing it didn't say F*ck the Pigs) if the reg number itself was legal.

Its always worth remembering that you only lease your Reg no. from the DVLA and if you abuse it they can take it off you, and without a reg. plate you kind of have no car ;)

I cant quote any good other reason than its what the *** says, can you? True to say they dont present a risk in the same way speeding or drink-driving does, probably why most cops turn a blind eye but at the end of the day its what the *** and construction and use regs dictate and if you choose to break it you have to accept that there are people about whose job it is to enforce it regardless of how trivial it may seem........ If you want to add a personal touch fit something next to the plate instead of on the plate and the problem is solved without any issue.

I think that if you have a normal unmodified car with a personalized plate then the police won't be too fussed. The police tend to target the young boy racers with illegal plates.

Not anymore...the DVLA campain started 2 weeks or so ago....everybody and their dog is getting stopped. In fact it is more like the executive people that are getting picked on as these are more likly to have/ can afford number plates that look like their name.

Their usually not happy when you tell them to change thei £5K plate back to standard format

Its all getting a little bit too silly now, i don't understand why the spacing makes a difference, a friend of mine got done for the spacing on his, as long as the lettering is standard and can be read what difference does it make.

Difference is theres laws and guidelines as to what you can and cant have on your plate, if you deviate from it then your no longer within the law

Letters can be spaced closer and two letters can be made to look like one, thus making it hard to read.

So the law states only legal spacing, if the letters are spaced out the plate is still easily read but there can't be one rule for one person and one for everybody else. If the spacing is wrong you can be done, it's all down to the discression of the officer. My plate is double spaced to separate the first letter of my first name from the letters that make up my last name, its perfectly ledgible and the spacing is not stupidly obvious. The font is completely standard and legal too.

Its the ANPR system T-Jet, loads being stopped around the Telford area BTW.

So terrorism is winning, its disrupting our "normal" way of life despite the Government telling us we must "carry on as normal". Let me guess blebo... there are fines involved maybe? Sorry I'm cynical, not another cash cow for cash strapped Gordon by any chance? Or is it another way to fund camaras that spy on how many people are in a car etc etc ad infinitum.... country makes me sick under current commy dogma...

Thats what i mean if it is a standard plate with the correct font and the space is just in the wrong place for example: meant to be M8 XJF, but is M8X JF, then why would it make a difference it is still readable. I suppose you just got to make sure you get an officer in a good mood. :(

I'll go with that ffoxy.
All money making, and we all know it.

If as much time and effort went into policing the streets and preventing more serious and pressing crimes, britain would be a much safer place.

People daren't walk certain parts of the city at night, yet fully loaded volvos with two traffic cops often line certain roads.

Exactly my point, if as much time and money was spent on policing the streets and sorting out "Broken Britain" then the british public will be alot more safer. This country is slowly declining, the crime rate is going up, i can say this as i am only 19 myself but it is people around my age or younger that are commiting all the crimes. this is because they know that they can do whatever they like and all they'll get is a slap on the wrist or maybe even an ASBO, to have an ASBO these days is like getting a blue peter badge. Really does boil my pee when i see too police officers sitting in a volvo or vectra on the side of the road waiting for someone too come along that has a bulb out or an incorrect number plate. Sort it out Gordon. :bang:
