Hi all,

When i bought my car i got no forms about the 3rd year warranty, i was told i would have to fill something out. A month later i called fiat customer services, they told me to fill out the form in the back of my service book and to pay some money. I then called the my dealer and he told me to contact the place i bought it from. I did this and they said to wait a couple of months. Its now 5 months later so i called the dealer i bought it from and this time they said i needed to do nothing if i bought the car from new (which i did)

Who do i trust?!?!?!?! AHHHHHH :bang:

If I remember correctly my dealer told me that 2 years is with Fiat and the 3rd year is with the dealer. As I remember recieving a 3rd year dealer warranty letter just a few weeks after buying the car...

So if something needs replacing in the 3rd year under warranty, who'll be paying for it?

so the fact I have heard nothing is a bad thing? also my local dealer is not the dealer I bought the car from, is this a problem?

Here in Finland we have a 5 year warranty. :slayer:

You will find the mastercare people will give you advice on what to do and who to contact. Ive found them most helpful.

I wouldn't bother the 3rd year warranty ain't worth the paper its written on

3rd yr warranty is an insurance based warranty administered by Car Care Plan on behalf of Fiat, if car was purchased from a Fiat Dealer it will automatically be registered with them, if purchased from a car supermarket (or second hand ) you will have to register with Car Care to benefit from the 3rd year warranty. (At a cost of £27) This is for uk vehicles only, if it is an import it only benefits from the 2yr manufacturers pan european warranty. If you contact them they will advise, they are very helpful. Providing the vehicle is maintained as laid down by the manufacturer it is an excellent warranty !!!

My car is an ex demo car from a fiat dealer. Does this mean i'll have to pay the £27? Nobody mentioned this when I bought it... and is the warranty only valid at the dealer of purchase?

Yeah maybe. How about a leaking gearbox?. They refused to repair the seal. I wouldn't care but the whole gearbox was replaced in the first year due to the 6th gear exploding :devil: so its probably leaking because they didn't use new seals .

Took it into my local independant who used to be a fiat tech in the same garage and he knows the guy who fitted it and said he cuts corners big style :bang:.

All in all they fobbed me off for something they SHOULD fix . So ive resorted to buying a litre of gearbox oil every month .

fiat warranty

I am about to buy a grande punto about 18 months old but not from a fiat garage from another non franchise garage.how do i go about registering for the fiat 3 year warranty as there will be 18 months warrranty left.Is it automatic or if theres a problem in the future with the car do i just take it into a FIAT garage for repair warranty work?

nice! so i dont have to do anything if i bought it new from a fiat dealer, which i did! For all those of you asking how to get it if you didnt buy it new, there is a form in your warranty book that you need to send of with a cheque for £27

Fiat dealers register vehicle with Car Care so don't have to pay, vehicle can be taken to any Fiat Dealer, don't forget has to be serviced as specified, possibility of a claim being rejected if not, dependant on claim.

Will need to contact Car Care to transfer name over (£27 i think) they will advise. can contact them on 0870 752 7029. For the first 2 yrs warranty can be taken to any Fiat Garage for repair. ( Mind can do the same in the third year)
