Ok then i want to de-cat my T-Jet to get some extra bhp:D

So what i want to know is if anyone knew of where i could get one from (made up etc..)

Thanks (y)

A modern engine without a cat` is unlikely to meet emission requirements. They will catch up with you come MOT time or if you are subject to a roadside check.... then they will jump on you. There are easier (and Legal) ways of gaining a few more ponies......your choice though.

Well basically i dont care about the warranty. If something goes wrong i have a very good FIAT dealer. Plus ive already got a full stainless exhaust system so my exhaust system is already void of warranty. And as for the Turbo if that was to go, well.......... its just an excuse to fit a bigger one :D

As for sensors thats why i was asking about it on here i am blank on that front.

my god the toy-jets are really getting desperate to gain that extra bhp:Dwhy not rip out all the interior except of course the drivers seat it will go faster then:eek:

The OP gobsmacks me with his ignorance and blissfull disregard for his wallet! :D

Yes I was thinking that.... He's driving a Fiat Petrol Turbo... Warranty is a very valuble thing in the early years!.

A Race cat is a replacement for the OEM cat and allows a higher flow for higher performance but still cleans the gasses and allows for your lambda sensors to do their job too. You can buy a universal one from a number of manfucturers and get an exhaust place to weld it in place etc. Not sure what the Tjet exhaust design is like yet. If you go to the RR day im sure we could have alook for you.

I decatted my 1.4 16v (T-jet without the turbo) and it ran rough as hell!. Used to splutter and back fire and shoot flame under full load and then deacelleration. Put the original manifold back on with the CAT in and ran perfect right away.....

oh i'm more than happy with my 120bhp thanks you (y)

I hope you're not expecting it to free up a ton of power, modern cats aren't that restrictive, i very much doubt you'll even feal any gain. There are a lot better ways of spending your money

Would be nice if the replacement of the cat would give that much power.

On the T-Jet to replace the cat is a tricky thing.

And I second that there is better ways to spend your money.

Woo i havent herd of a race cat. Wots the difference?

They're fcuking expensive. Difference cell ratings. More free flowing.

Exactly right. Top end (above 4000rpm) there was a fair bit extra power but I lost nearly all my low end torque. It also drank like a re-offending depressed alcoholic :bang:.

Increasing bore size and giving too little back pressure nails your low end torque, and gives more high end torque... out of the rev range.
