General M-Jet / T-Jet argument thread !!

Well................?

Does it matter what anyone says?
I can tell you the T-jet is more fun. The M-jet more frugal. The T-jet sounds better. The M-jet pulls harder. The T-jet pulls longer.

But will it change anyones mind from one to the other?
I don't think so. It's one of those pointless arguements tht will never be settled because nobody bought a T-jet because they wanted a M-jet and it's the same the other way round.

Be happy with the one you got. Unless it's the 1.4 8V obviously!

I'm more than happy with what I have got and i'm not about to swap it, to me the M-Jet has more advantages (mpg being the main one). But thats down to the individual to which one is advantageous. I was just interested to see the comparison.

Had the T-Jet been available when I was looking for a new car I would have tried both, but im pretty certain I would have still brought the M-Jet.

My M-Jet is great fun to drive, I'm guessing the T-Jet is just as much fun (and will sound better, M-Jet sounds like it should be on the farm). As long as the individual is happy is all that matters!

Fancy a race :p.

I have driven both and the difference I found was negligible. So show me your evidence of how the M Jet is "quite a bit faster"...

(y)...evidence on it's way! Just as soon as I work out the principal physics of time travel. I'll then be in a position to give you a broken down analysis of my test drives with a 'Minority Report' style touch interface presentation resolving at my decision point. I may be some time however.

With this added to my CV and gained experience I'll be able to offer brain remaps for £199 with before and after rolling aptitude tests. You can be my first customer if you like:)

Are we talking about 2 standard cars or a modified M-Jet because as much as i think the T-Jet is a great car and a much needed addition i cant help but think that it would lag quite far behind when it comes to in-gear acceleration.

Who made this thread cause i didn't me and venom were having a little dispute and now its turned into a full blown debate. :D

At least you admit the M-Jet sounds like a tractor/transit, most other M-Jet drivers won't. I had an M-Jet for 2 days whilst my T-Jet was in the garage and tbh there weren't a huge difference in performance apart from my T-Jet feels alot quicker in acceleration and alot smoother. The thing that i was really disappointed with was that it really does sound awful, sounds like i'm driving my works van. But obviously that is a biased opinion.

Next time I have to take my car in to TJ Vickers you can come try your luck :p.

Lol lets go for it, you'll have to let me know when your coming down, we'll go for a blast down the A442, but i think you'll beat me down there so then we'll go down the Humbers, you'll never catch me down there. :p

Thats one thing i really want to try and change. I hate sitting in the car at idle and sounding like a taxi driver (they are already hated enough on here, lol). The sound isnt bad though when the turbo gets going on mine, its soooo loud, lol.

lol that is true it is just at idle and when first pulling away, but once the turbo spoils up it sounds like any other car. I've noticed just lately that my T-Jet has got louder when the turbo kicks in, has a gorgeous raw to it.

Both bog standard...unless T J Vickers remap their test drive cars! lol....

Gave both plenty of beans, same route...In the short time I was in them didn't notice a much difference.

The one I drove had a little tssh if you open the window and back off the throttle while on full boost .

Is the A442 the road between Bridgenorth and Telford? I've ragged it round there once or twice, never in my M-Jet. I doubt i would keep up as I don't know the road. I better get some practice in....

How about a race with a limited amount of fuel each? By that I mean the same amount. Would be interesting to see who won then.

You're a funny onion!!!! ;)

cant argue with a diesel for the economy though.

if i compared my jtd stilo to the 1.8 say, i dont think it would have got anywhere near as far as what my jtd just has done on one tank of disel.

653 miles :D

i have noticed this before, nothing really to shout about, i was thinking of getting dump valve fitted but decided against it as:
1) there are alot of sensors around it and don't fancy getting some warning lights flashing at me.
2) I like it that nobody expects it to be a turbo until i blast past them.

Yes the A442 is the road from bridgenorth to telford the main part goes from north telford to south telford its a dual carriageway. i think you'd win on the fuel though.

Don't forget the back roads on the way to Shrewsbury...past the Old Sugar Beet factory...cracking roads round there.... :)
