Hi Guys

Been a while since i've been on here...

My GP Sporting mjet is coming up on 2 years old now, I cant believe it!

No problems with it whatsoever, it's only done 9k!

I'm currently hassling Fiat UK and big dealers like Mangoletsi and Veloces trying to get info on the GPA... none of them have a clue when the Abarth brand will launch.

I really want to be a launch customer for one of these :)

I'm even going to Turin 'on holiday' in 2 weeks and I'm gonna do my best in my broken Italian to get test drive in the GPA at Officine Abarth. I can't wait.. I'll be sure to post my review here when I get back!

Is there anyone else on here who is gonna get one of these beasts?

I've even launched a blog to collect all the info I can off the web regarding it... http://abarthgp.wordpress.com

Cheers

Courtster

Nope, just a kitted out sporting at a premium thats just too high. Don't get me wrong I love the Abarth theres just no way I'd pay the premium for it. The seats are my favorite thing :).

When the prices drop I'd consider one. It should be 180bhp out the factory never mind getting ripped off £3000 to get the SS "Essensce" kit or what ever its called to boost it from 155bhp. Would be cheaper to buy a T-jet sporting and fit everythhing yourself and still save £2-3k.

The premium will only be around £1500, maybe less, it won't be a penny more than the Fiesta ST I can assure you of that. The Italian price is £13300, approx £1500 more than the T-jet sporting.

True, you'll be able to blag a much better deal on a new T-jet, as discounts will be rare to start with on the GPA, but still, I think less than £14k on the road is not bad value at all for a little exclusivity.

Yeah but the real value of a Sporting Tjet is £9500 can pick them up new anywhere for that. Also its will be 14k for the base model GPA, add the SS kit (still only 180bhp) and your talking 17k which is a lot of money.

I do like the Abarth and I DO want one I just don't plan on jumping on the bandwagon and paying top dollar just to have it a few months before most people. I think most other people especailly with the remapped M-jets feel the same.

Here here.

Plus, I can afford to insure my 1.9 M-jet, I wouldn't even be able to pay off one months insurance on a GPA.

Plus If PuntoKris tells us what he's got in the pipeline, us M-jet owners will have faster cars than the GPA (SS or not)

Ps. SS is Esseesse

I so hope I can get one delivered before the next Auto Italia event at Brooklands in May, I had such a great time there when I last came with you guys - even though very hungover I locked the keys in the boot and had to drive in my friends car to Birmingham to get the spare key!

Damn you Fiat and you're boot release button on the fob!

heres some more pics of the abarth incase u havent seen them before. i like the red one, but i don't like those white alloys you get with the ss kit i prefer the standard ones, if they could make them 18's instead of 17's that wud be good.

The red is alright but it doesn't really turn my had too much.

White is the nicest imo. those white wheels that come with the essesse are alot better than the standard 155 wheels imo

Ok, this might cause a bit of contraversy, but......i dont really like the Abarth. I hate the new fogs, they are horrible, and the i dont like the fact the kit is in a horribe cheap looking matt black plastic. Only thing i do like is its stance with the SS kit, ans the wheels with the SS.

.....Oh, and the headlights (want them for my car) :p

I hate to say it but from what I hear Abarth isn't going to arrive on our shores anytime soon, probably not this year so you best chance of getting is buying from one of European friends. Don't get too excited you could be waiting a long time until the Abarth becomes officially available here.

When talking about the red version I'm not far behind you on that.

But if we're talking white, then I may start getting moist.

Good, this will please t-jet and M-jet owners ;)

I sorta see where your coming from on the white version. I just think that plastic looks tacky, and very dated. Each to there own, but i would have prefered a nice smooth wide arch kit, colour coded, and that side skirt has no real design, its just a slab. I don't think you can really make the GP into an aggressive car, as its not square enough (like the Fiesta). I think they've gone down the wrong path with the Abarth design.

I agree it is very hard to make the GP look aggressive, and I really don't like any other colour apart from white. Maybe we'll change our minds when we see them in the flesh.

I wouldn't mind a set of abarth seats though :yum:

I'm gonna get me a white one with the full stripe kit, and maybe the leather and other extras as long as a model with those options are gonna in transit to the UK for launch. I got my GPS that way, and will do the same with the GPA.

Trust me, the GPA will hit this year, the UK hot hatch market is the biggest throughout Europe, Fiat will not let the competition gain too far a footing in the UK market - they'll deft want it launched before the all new 2008 Fiesta.

P.S. have you seen Ford are copying Abarth and their esseesse kit with their 'Mountune' versions of the Fiesta and Focus ST?
