Hi,
My question is what purpose do the the feature of the doors Autoclose serve?
This feature if its enables will lock the doors automatically when you pass the 20Km/h driving. so what`s the logic behind it? the doors can be open from inside but it can't be open from outside. i haven't heard of someone trying to open the doors on you from outside while ur driving faster then 20Km/h.
at the beginning i thought i locks the rear doors "my GP is 5 doors" from inside as some sort of kids protections but just to find out that they also can be open from inside regardless of the Autoclose operation.
unless there is something i'm missing here.

Yes.......And then when you come to stop at traffic lights the doors are still locked.
So that means that no one on the outside can open the door and 'car jack', rape, rob or generally attack you.

Exactly...If you commute in Cape Town for example and pass certain districts I'm sure this is a welcome feature. You know the car will lock as soon as you start moving and could be something you forget one day if in a rush.

Especially useful if you're a female and always forget to lock the doors.

Umm i c! very interesting points then. Well... glad that such things don't happen n my area . But even though that i find it not that much useful to me, i'm leaving this feature on (y)

I believe the feature is a legal requirement in some countries. The doors unlock in the event of an accident via the fuel cut-off and airbag systems.

you say that but my brother lives in a rather affluent area and it happened to him!

and if you do keep using the auto locking device you will have increase the chances of the door opening mechanism to fail ten fold a known inherent grande punto fault.mines only failed when i used this device persistently so be aware:(

It doesn't matter if you live in an affluent area - its where you're driving that matters..

How do you disable/not use it?

:D:D:D total BS... The door release mechanism fault is in no way connected with overuse of the Autoclose facility...you are rumour-mongering, behave yourself.

(y)Yeah that, I use the auto-lock all the time, no problems at all.
