A spanner icon has now appeared on my dash display as I've done just over 18000 miles. I think on start up it also says "Service coupon expired" - or words to that effect.

However - the car was serviced at 12 months as this was earlier than reaching 18000 ( Registered May 06 - serviced May 07) .

I suspect it's a dealer job to stop the reminder and lose the spanner - or can i lose it myself - or will it go of its own accord at some point?

Take it back the muppets forgot to reset the service indicator it cant be user reset it needs plugging in to the computer at the dealer.... Worth kicking a bit of a stink up and haggling for some freebees for the inconvenience E.G. a ltr top up of oil wont go amiss :D (well thats what i would do)

They hadn't reset mine either, though I won't be racking up enough mileage for the icon to show up.

does it not come up after a year if you dont hit 18000??

No, my car has only done 10,000 miles and is 20 months old, never been near a dealer and the computer still indicates service next due in 8,000 miles. A long story, told somewhere else in this forum. Basically, on purchase, my dealer told me 18,000 mile service intervals or 24 months, or whatever comes first. My service booklet states the same. Service booklet information re. service intervals changed some months after I bought mine, but Fiat never contacted me. I am in discussion with Fiat about this, cos my warranty could be screwed due to no fault of mine.
