Hi all.

It's time to get new tyres fitted on our Eleganza and I'd really appreciate your advice in choosing between:

- Avon ZV3
- Toyo Proxes T1-R
- Continental PremiumContact 2

Grateful for your responses asap. Thanks.

Avon ZV3 - Will Kill you
Toyo Proxes T1-R - Will kill you in the wet
Continental PremiumContact 2 - Are decent whatver the weather

I use to run Conti Premium contacts on my old Peugeot and they were very good. Lots of grip in the wet and dry and lasted about 20K miles, don't go for the Eco contacts as they provide much less grip

Saying that on my GP i've just replaced the Conti's with Michelins as i didn't like the feel of the Conti's on the GP

lol whatever you do, do not get Toyo Proxies T1-R's, they are ****e in the wet, had a few near misses in my old car.

definately agree, would never trust Proxes, although chavs seem to like them, mind you they also crash alot....

We have just fitted Falken ZE512 all round on our BMW 750iL and they are excellent, way better than Pirelli P6000 that came off, ride comfort is improved, excellent traction wet and dry too.

My GPS will need new fronts very shortly and I will definately fit Falkens to it, and they are excellent value too.

The best tyre ive ever had were Michelin Pilot Primacy on a Megane dCi, they lasted nearly 25k miles on the front, amazingly expensive though but worth it depending on your budget, I wouldnt touch Contis either, loads of money and IMHO opinion not worth it.

don't get me wrong the proxes are awesome in the dry, stick like pig s**t but in the wet its like bein on an ice rink, i think the bridgestones on my gps now are a good tyre, not had a problem yet.

I'd agree with the Falken's I had them on my Alfa 156 to begin with and then put them on my Punto. Good all around grip can actually feel them bitting into the road even in the wet :D. Not sure about their life span yet but they can't be too bad and can't be bad for the price.

Falkens grip is at least as good as the Bridgestones in my experience, jury still out on life of the tyre, but my remaining Bridgestone on the front still has quite a lot left in it, maybe 3 -4 k miles, that will be 21k miles, not bad on the front. Must get the wheel alignment looked at, inside edges of both fronts are more worn than the centres and outsides. The Falken is still good and never breaks traction any earlier than the Bridgestone, for £55 a tyre its good for me. Recommended. (y)

Right well from what you guys said i'm not getting toyo tyres lol so i'm considering getting Pirelli P Zero Nero, or Continental Sport Contact 2/3 i have been told Goodyear Eagle F1's are good but then i read a few reviews and they said they are absolutely ****e!!

So It's confusing. I've got £200 to spend on 2 new tyres and i want rim protection but theres so many to choose from...

Yeah purchased 2 x 205/45 R17 88W XL BSW, Z (So), Bridgestone, Potenza RE 050 A

£199.40 in total :) Better spec tyre aswell! God bless bridgestone :)

Saying that the GP needs good tyres because it lacks a decent suspension :D.[/quote]

Don't start that one off again!
