I have read a few of the MPG threads but was wondering what other m-jet users are getting for the MPG, especially once it has done 10k or more. I have done 3k, drive 600miles on the motorway each week steadily between 60-75mph and its never averaged above 49mpg for the week. Thought this is a little poor seen as its quoted as 60mpg, early 50's would be acceptable to me.

60-75 on a motorway, i hope the police pull you over for driving too slow

the mpg figures you state are good for a standard unmapped 1.9 you wont better it much unless you map it.the most i have achieved on 1 single journey was 62mpg on a 40 mile motorway stretch driving at 60mph:eek:i have never heard of anyone achieve 60 mpg unmapped:)

I average just over 40mpg and thats motorway/NSL 80% and urban 20%.
But i do make progress ;):D

I've found that no matter how you drive it the mpg doesn't vary that much at all. I can either drive like a granny and get about 44 or have fun and get 40-41. I know which i would rather do(y)

Muppet,You try driving down the M6 past manchester in rush hour faster.

I find that if my average is about 75-85 the mpg plummets quite alot further. What kind of figures you getting now jassyo with the remap? Might be a good excuse for a re-map;).

Like you say kp02 I bought the car to enjoy so not too concerned with mpg when I'm blasting it just thought it would be a bit higher for the commute considering fiats estimates!

i do 320 miles on a full tank , mostly rush hour driving, pre remap it was alway on 30-31 , post remap its 29-30 ! I have never seen over 35 even on motorway driving also.

 do you drive everywhere in 3rd gear or something. i am amazed if i get anything less then 450 miles on a tank from the stilo. :p

I'm very surprised at how good the Mpg is on the 1.9 is (especially seeming as mine hasn't settled in yet). For the past 2 years I've been commuting 60 miles a day in a 1.3 MJet 90 and there's been absolutely no difference between them when driving normally...50mpg on average.!? Sounds strange I know and the only way I can explain it is that the 1.3 needed to be revved to get anywhere and the GPS cruises around at 2000-2500 rpm no probs.

I do 15mins on the motorway from cold every morning and night 5 days a week, get around 40mpg. Doing 95mph once fully warm will get around 38-40mpg. On A roads cruising under 60 its anywhere between 48-55mpg, its a standard gps mjet, though i wish it was mapped!

Wierd.....I get 500 miles from a tank. You must have a rare Diesel guzzling tape worm in your tank!!

my car is due a 36k service so its mpg is slightly down at the moment 47mpg thats motorway driving and some b roads and good bit of hard accelerating all in on my daily commute to work which is a round trip of 88 miles normally its 51mpg .my gp mpg dipped a little to just before its 18 k service too it aint had a drop of oil in it since its 18k service:eek:even when i used to thrash it the mpg never went under 45 mpg.so its another benefit of the remap its just a win,win with a remap:D

I would be aiming to get a minimum of about 400 miles from a tank from a grande sporting (y)

i get about 450 miles from my stilo on varied a road driving, and on motorways at about 80-85 mph i can get easily over 500. i dont think the tank is much bigger on my car either so that wont count in the occasion. and that has been mostly over summer with my skyroof open or the aircon on as well :p(y)

have you checked your oil and tyre pressures lately

I am happy with the mpg considering the power etc just wondered if it would go up more after a 10k or so. Looks like a rempa could be a possibility if your getting atleast 45mpg when thrashing it!
Your mpg seems very low dieseldave even for rush hour traffic.

You'll probably find like I did on mine. Once you hit 10k the engine losen's up nicely and has a fair bit more grunt low down I also did an Oil change around about that time too as I was quite demanding on it (did 10k in 3 1/2 months) so didn't want to take any risks and just to make sure it's running at its best which it did I gained an extra 4mpg after that :).

1.9 GPS M-Jet... Keeping under 80 on the M-Ways and cruising around under 2500rpm in built up areas. Admittedly quite difficult in this car but it works.....I save the odd blast for the weekend of course.

Theres been more discussions on this frankly boring subject than i've had hot dinners.

If you have lead foot, expect to see sub 40 mpg. If you drive conservatively all the time expect to see mid 40s to 50 mpg.

Anything in between is easy to work out in your head.

:yeahthat: I agree. 47.8 mpg since ownership, 53.8 on M/way trip yesterday 210 miles M6 to Liverpool and back, steady 70 - 80 mph.

Heavy right foot dont help.

1.9 Mjet un-mapped (y)

I know it has been discussed a lot but that is why I was asking what to expect after 10-20k
