My radio in my Jan 2007 1.3mjet cannot play MP3 CDs, just regular ones :(. I was wondering whether FIAT just do an upgrade to a MP3 capable radio/CD player which I could swap. Mines a Blaupunkt BTW. Even the manual shows the little MP3 logo on the front of the radio, but not mine. Just missed out, IU guess.

I'm pretty sure it can be done but FIAT weren't answering their phones today (and anything requiring technical confirmation seems to confuse them).

Anybody confirm this one way or the other? And the cost?

hmm, thats weird. which model is your car?

Mine is a dynamic, same year and same engine. 90bhp yeah?

mine plays mp3 no problem, i am guessing that you have burnt the tracks wrong or something!

if its the active model then flEa-bay it is. Thats what I have done since mine died. Fiat want £400 for a direct replacement.

Hi There,

I've the same problem. My carradio doesn't play MP3 either!!@#

Just bought a GP 1.4 Edizione year 2006 with blaupunkt radio.

I'd like to upgrade and are looking for solutions:
- Ebay (I wil have a look there)
- Fiat dealer (saw alraedy a price of 400 pounds on the forum)

W'll see

Fitting a FIAT compatiable radio was waaaay too expensive for me.

I eventually decided to buy an mp3 player and hook it up to the radio via the AUX input (which in itself required a new cable, there is a thread on this forum somewhere about it).

Additionally, I needed a proper iPOD cable othwerwise it was a bit quiet. Now it works 100% and still lots cheaper than buying an MP3-capable radio.

Next car I'll make sure it plays MP3 cds though!
