After having suffered for 18 months with my present GPS, I am going to get rid of my present car and try again. I'll put my present problems down to my car being probably one of the first off the production line and full of teething problems. Anyway, where is the cheapest place to buy one for cash, ie. no trade-in?

Big turn around.my advice would be stay with it its winter and you know how it can be like up here in south lanarkshire BAD give it Feb/march maybe even we will have more info on the 2008 face lift or even have a bash at a abarth.non-sensical in my opinion to get rid at this time of year(y)

Thanks for good reply, it makes sense. The only reason I am considering the change is because I may be able to do a deal for about £2500. If this deal works out I will be rid of my early production run fault laden car and have a hopefully fault free late production run motor. If I can do a deal to change for less than 3K I am going to give it serious consideration. The winter months are a problem up here, however, for work I use an old Pug 306 on s...y days and keep the GPS for better days. What a saddo I am.

give it ago see how you get on,if makes you more content by all means, try and get a used one pr pre regy with some nice options on it to give a psychological lift just as we both know they where hard to come by when the gp 1st came out.what colour though......???????

You're a brave man.

Just got up this morning and thought last night was just a bad dream. But no, I really was considering trying again witha new GPS. Must have had too much beer last night. Anyway, now faced with the cold stark reality of a new day, my thoughts may now be somewhat different. Anyway, if I can negotiate a deal for £2500 to change to a brand new unregistered one I may give it a go. Fiatsupasaver seems to be the cheapest, and if I can get a local dealer to match the price, then we shall see what happens.

Pre reg cars can be discounted by upto £2000. You will be very hard pushed to get a unregistered car for £2500 to change. Unless they offer £500 less than a pre registered cars price for your trade in.

I am basing my initial calculations on a price of £9695 at Fiatsupasaver and a provisional sale price for my present car of £7215.

A dealer won't even try match Fiat supasaver on an unregistered car.

10,988 Is the Sticker price we do on a pre reg 1.9 Sporting. On a 57 plate registered in the last 2 weeks. Your trade in price is pretty accurate so without any negotiations the price to change on a pre reg is £3773. There is noway you will get £2500 to change on a unregistered car. Not out of a Scottish Fiat dealer anyway sorry.

Desira, Southgate matched fiatsupasaver's price and beat it by £150 for me and the car wasn't pre-reg.......so it can be done.

You didn't 'PM' me but the deal goes like this......

G. Punto 1.4 16 valve Sporting, mettallic blue, 12 months tax, luxury mats, £20 petrol, locking cap and side rubbing strips......£9400.
Their number: 0208-211-9117
.....but most dealers will match web-site prices......if you've got a 'trade-in' that can f**k up the deal in favour of the dealer.

hope this helps ya.

According to the Fiatsupasaver website 1.9 GPS is £9,995. Then if you want metallic paint £360 (£300 at your dealer) Then I'm sure I read on here somewhere £200 for delivery but that isn't on the website so isn't confirmed.
Brings a 1.9 GPS without extras to £10555 which brings the price to change back upto £3340. Ofcourse that depends on whether the delivery charge does indeed exist and you want a metallic colour.

You had me wondering how you managed to get it unregistered for that price. Didn't realise yours was a 1.4 starjet.

If you look at the price at the top of this page it is £9695, and as I want white it is £9695. No extras to pay (tax, etc. included and I would be collecting the car myself). If you check out the site you will see what is included. I called them to confirm. Unfortunately, no white in stock at present.

Ah I never saw that price. I was looking in the Grande section where they have a different price advertised.
It would appear your mission is is simple then. Remember your local branch might not know Fiatsupasaver doesn't take Part exchanges. So don't mention it. :D

I have found a trader who is offering to buy it for £7215.

just my thoughts but buy in haste repent at your leisure just wait till next spring you will still get the same value for your car.i felt the exact same as you after my car was in a smash and in the body shop for 2 months in may there.glad i didn't change it then as i am looking forward to getting a gp abarth.it will be a vast improvement on a gp m-jet.there is no difference what so ever from a 06 plate m-jet to a 57 plate.if you do it i am sure the novelty will wear off very quickly when i fly by you in motherwell in my abarth or even SS.........:D:D
