Got mine down to 18.3mpg in 5th.
Had to try hard. Not sure this is the main purpose of the trip computer, but it's more fun.

Mate of Mine had a V6 Seat and if he booted it hard in first the MPG went to -4 mpg!!! Wonder if that means he is putting fuel back into the tank??? lol
Doubt it but sure would be good!
No that means its dropping a galon of fuel on the road every mile .
IC is "instantaneous consumption", what the computer calculates you are doing at that moment.
Back in the eighties, a Rover 3500 V8 Auto up the hill out of Weymouth towards Dorchester (Dorset) could read 4mpg, then over the top and on the overrun, 144mpg. The trip computers used to read three figures then. Average was about 15mpg!
The current Fiesta, 1.0 100hp turbo can read 12mpg with just brisk acceleration, booting it hard takes it down to 3. "Econetic" not really.
Worst on the Panda I've seen has been 17mpg. Not a good toy really, may cause you to crash because you're reading the display instead of the road.
also what would the -4 mean that one of the posters above mentioned?
ok thanks thats what i thought, so why are ppl on here so proud of getting a low reading?????
Just for fun. people always want to get mpg as high as possible... why not see how low you can get it.
ok understand now
some ppl obviously have too much money to burn
