Styling Tinted Rear Windows

The front passenger and driver side window can only be tinted no less than 70%. Rear windows can be treated in any shade of tint. Windscreens must be clear from tinting apart from a 6" strip across the top.

If the police do a roadside check & advised to have the tinting removed, failure to do which might result in a prosecution and a fine of up to £2000

My brother had tints on hes first first car on the front side and passenger side as well as the back and he got pulled over by the police one night and given a knife to take them off there and then and as soon as he did it they wrote him a ticket and gave him 3 points on hes licience!

Didn't think the police could make you take them off there and then, when my mate got pulled he was given 7 days to have them removed at a local tinting place.

Well knowing my brother he had prob been told before by them to remove them but would try and get away with it! But year they pulled him over made him take them off infront of them!

3 Points surely thats a joke right  im sure tinted windows is a None endorsable fixed penalty notice same as driving with your fog lights on or no seatbelt

Just to claify, regarding illegal tints on windows. If the side front windows arent letting in 70% of the light or the main windscreen isnt letting in 75% of light then the car can have a 'pg9' notice served on it which basically means it cant move until the tints are removed.

So most police officers will ask you to remove the tint there and then so the vehicle can move on. They can not force you to remove the tint there and then, but until its removed the car isnt going anyway.

Adding any tint to most vehicles will make them illegal. Most car manufactures have made there windscreens and side windows very close to the 75% and 70% limit.

I cheated mate, my dealer got a guy to come in and do them for me as part of a deal they had going on. There are a few places in Cov that get good reviews but they arent cheap. I remember when i was ringing round they were talking £200+ for the back window and the rear quarters, stupid.
