Technical Dualogic Gearbox

As I've said before - give up and live with it man, its just the way it is ;)

It's good to hear that this problem still hasn't been resolved!!!

I've just had to call Fiat again, as now the juddering is becoming dangerous. Not pulling away quick enough at roundabouts etc. It is also remaining when the car has warmed up!! So what is the problem??????????? It's had a new clutch and fly-wheel. (all under warranty)

Also, a new problem, that when its ticking over (no revs) it sounds like there are a load of nuts and bolts in the engine (probably there are!) Once it revs they go, then come back when its ticking over again!!!???

So, what's next?? ;)

I'm taking it in tomorrow morning so they can come out for a drive with me........ how exciting!

I wonder what they will want to try this time? I feel a new gear box coming on................

Ok, a long story short....

The local dealer closed down due to non-payment of bills etc. Looked at the car, but couldn't help.....

Was driving down the M2 motorway in Kent, coming off on to the slip road. The car started majorly started juddering then stallled. Tried staring it and the gears were just grinding away, then stalled again.

The AA turned up and towed me to another dealer - looks like the gearbox has gone. Tried putting it into reverse and I thought the engine was going to jump out the car!!

They are going to look at it Monday- so what are they going to say this time?

Fiat need to sort this out - this is dangerous!!

Any car that stalls is potentially dangerous (even the ones the owners forget to put fuel in) and when you think of what can actually cause a car to stall or cut out its mind-bogglng it dont happen more often. However keep us up to date with developments(y)

But this shouldn't be happening - I know Fiat aren't the only ones suffering this juddering and complete malfunction on these electronic gearboxes - amazing in this day and age they can't get this technology right. This is the second car that had this problem (Vauxhall and Fiat), I won't be buying another one next time round - It's full automatic next time.

my ford cuts whenever it feels like it....has done for 5 years which is why I cant sell the f*cker, dont mean I wouldn't buy another ford though.

I'd have another Fiat, but not with Daulogic - it has no logic. I will go for full automatic.

Lets wait and see what the phone call brings today..........

UPDATE

They are taking the gearbox out, but can't do it until Thursday or Friday..... so no real news yet. :bang:

UPDATE 2

The dealer has just called to say that the clutch had completely disintegrated!!!! Interesting considering the new one was only fitted a couple of weeks ago. (n)

It has damaged some "other" parts, which all need to be changed. I will await to hear the next instalment.

Bodatron

Yikes.. doesn't inspire much confidence does it...?

Let us know how you go!

UPDATE 3

They are replacing the clutch and fly wheel and claim that the last one was installed incorrectly (only 3 weeks ago).

Fiat have told them to call once its fitted, so they can ensure the settings are correct for daulogic - they seem to think the juddering is caused by the shaft that goes into the gearbox not being aligned correctly?? Can it be that simple? I think not, but lets see.......

UPDATE 4

Ok, new clutch, fly wheel and what ever else it destroyed when it broke up.

Seems to be runnig fine at the moment - lets see what happens after a few days of sitting around...... Could it be cured? Could it be a dodgy instalation of the clutch that has casued this???

I will let you know........

Bodatron

UPDATE 5

Well, no problems. No juddering!! So is it a badly fitted clutch that's been causing all the problems?? 4 weeks with no problems after 18 months of juddering!

Bodatron

Awesome - looks like the mystery has finally been solved and we can all get some decent sleep once again (y)

I'm back to driving the car only once or twice a week, and sure enough the juddering is back.

So the age-old question: is the juddering causing any damage? I don't want to be in the same situation as Bodatron.. :(

I had the bleeping when I parked it in Neutral. Then I read in the dualogic manual that you should never park it in neutral. This seems odd. Why is that? When I start up I sometimes have to put it into Neutral first because it thinks its in neutral!
