Should this be doing this or should I be taking it back???

No one seems to know why its doing this or what the fix is - so unfortunately I've learned to live with it :(

By all means see if your dealer/garage can figure it out, but I wouldn't be holding my breath..

I haven't tried different modes yet, but have you tried using it in manual and auto? Does it do the same?

Yep, doesn't matter if its auto or manual, it'll judder after a few days cold.

It shouldn't be..

If it blows up then just get it replaced under warranty and get another one that judders!

Ok, a long time since I have been on here, but I thought I would update you on the Dualogic problems.

It still judders when the car has been sitting for a few days without moving. Also, it now doesn't always select reverse gear. This has nearly caused a couple of accidents.

I took the car back to the dealer who kept it for the day. They couldn't find anything wrong with it. They suggested that the juddering could be caused by a build up of corrosion on the fly-wheel it it hasn't moved for a few days. This would then resolve itself once the corrosion had come off after a few gear changes. The reason for not selecting reverse everything couldn't be sorted out. They are going to think about it and may change the clutch firstly, to see if that helps.

Has anyone else managed to sort this one out??

Thanks

Apparently there's an update to smooth this out.. (though dealer couldn't find it for me)

What do you mean - similar to this? https://www.fiatforum.com/grande-punto-technical/136319-duologic-problem-again.html?p=1426409

I've driven mine a lot more regularly these days so not sure if I still have the juddering, but I'm pretty sure its still there. CBFed anymore

Hi There just joined the group,
I just bought a new Grande Punto last week with dualogic transmission, as usual with this "special" gearbox they are not in the manual, don't forget italian don't really love automatics, they love cloches!! By the way there is an additional book who comes with it just for the dualogic transmission.
I usually got the bad abit to read all the manual on the first day i got a new car and forget everything the next day but something that sound funny to me was that yes at some point the Dualogic manual says to leave the car in gear when you off the engine, i have to double check this with the manual as soon as my wife will come back with the car and conifirm it with you, but yes that noise when you off the engine when the car is in neutral is really annoying but did not try to leave it in gear and see what happen.
I hope this help
Have a good day
take care
Sergio

Hi There just joined the group,

Welcome to FF :)

Not according to my dealer; apparently it doesn't exist

Yeh you're suppose to leave it in gear when switching off and have it in neutral when starting up - otherwise it'll beep at you.

I'll be taking my car back to the dealer to sort the reverse problem out. I'll let you know what happens.

My dealer also said there wasn't a hand book for the daulogic, but a very nice person from Fiat UK saw my comments on here previously and sent me one - so YES it is available.

I had my car parked for just 2 days an noticed the judder does start when the car is stationed for a few days, I also got into a major traffic jam where cars were moving bumper to bumper and every time i moved forward on the first the whole car just shrudders and moves forward, it has to be something wrong with the magnetic clutch, I am putting the car into the shop next Tuesday as the dealer seems quite confident he can fix this issue, I will give them just one chance and should the problem come up again, I have told them that I need a brand new dualogic gear box which they have agreed to provide. lets see how it goes, by the way my air bag failure warning light also decided top come on this evening, so need to have that checked as well

You're wasting your time mate - I'm willing to bet with my life they will not be able to fix it.

I believe you but let's see what happens, if they can't fix it then they better get ready to import a new gear box, I think all this started when they did a software upgrade at 1000km, I think the first generation software was good but the gear change was extremely heave and slowed the car down when gears were changing but this was ok after the update but I guess it triggered off the judder, tried to get the remove the software but they claimed it is not possible

True that! but not everybody seems to have this problem, so maybe juts a few gear boxes are faulty, lets see what happens am quite curious to see what they are going to do!

I have a non-dualogic punto, leave it a few days & it judders but once warm its fine. Alot of cars do this, not trying to make a excuse for either of you,but its the same with brakes mine judder when left until applied a few times.
