My 1.3 jtd has now done 10,000kms and lately I have noticed a rattling sound
coming from the right side rear door. That's where I think it's coming from..
Any ideas??
Also, I'm having a problem with the driver's seat. In that I raise it and after a few days,it's back on the floor again. I noticed from a previous post that this is a problem with the 'rachet lever'? What does the dealer need to do to fix this?

It only rattles when I go over bumps in the road or over driveways etc..

Service bulletin out for this (modified handle).

Regarding that rattle- could be numerous causes. Is the rear seat properly latched back in place? Parcel shelf clipped-in? Nothing rattling around in the boot/footwells?

If all these are ruled-out I'd book it in, it's possibly something like the rear door catch/ front anti roll bar droplink etc.

I have a rattle in my 1.9 Sporting which I would describe in the same way (squeaky rattle, only over bumps?). However no rear doors on my car. Maybe it is the rear seat or suspension.

Any ideas?

Cheers D4nny8oy Found the cause, the right-side rear seat was not fully latched in place.. and thanks for the headsup about the info about the modified handle for the front seat problem

You wouldn't believe how often people come in with rattles that turn out to take 2 seconds to fix!

My favourite was an Alfa customer who complained about a rattle from his centre console.... but only when his wife was in the passenger seat?
Turned out whenever she sat in the car she laid her glasses case in the centre console!

Spending 5 minutes checking round the car can save you a lot of grief ( booking car in, time off work to drop off/pick up, etc).

Good point; the other day there was this jingling sound coming from the back and I was like "What the hell is that??"

Turned out it was one of those dangling things you hang on the centre rear mirror I had put in the back jingling away
