Just ordered a sporting diesel and will be doing a lot of motorway miles. Just wondered if anybody got any figures as to what MPG they get on the Mway?

Also ordered the skydome but noticed the head space is reduced, It was fine with the seat adjusted but has anybody had problems with the head space with taller passengers?

Pre remap I was getting approx 48mpg on the motorway (use it every day for work) and about 36 mpg round town.

Post remap I get approx 55-60 mpg on the motorway and 42 round town.

Well done on getting a sporting!!

mines standard and i get 50+ on the motorway, i have achieved 59.8mpg before, and usually get about 41-42mpg knocking about. HTH

congratulations. :)

I have this last weekend just done Oldham(Manchester) to Romford, essex then Romford to bristol(redlands)and back to Oldham on 1 tank of shell V powered diesel in a 1.9 Sporting.Oldham to Romford 234 miles @ about 64 MPH =58.4 MPG,Romford to Bristol I got 61MPG peaking at 63.5MPG,Bristol to Oldham I got 58.7MPG,I still had enough fuel to do 2 one hour driving lessons before I filled up,Result.

well the figures speak for themselves, the most I ever acheived before was 58.3MPG which is good but 63.5 I think is sensational and thats over 160 miles, using the M25and M4.I'm happy.

Made no difference to my consumption. Always same on M6 up to Liverpool.
Steady 70, gives me 60 - 61 mpg on the computer, allowing for its inaccuracies I would guesstimate 53 - 55 mpg. I'm happy whatever it is, beats the cr*p outa a 2 litre petrol.

man i must drive it like such a spoon then my mpg has not been reset since i started and is only 42.3 :-(
think i need some hints lol

At mostly constant motorways speeds I can easily get over 50mpg on a standard engine though you do need to drive like a saint:p (less than 70mph/2000rpm/very smooth/slow acceleration)

That is interesting about Shell V power.
I have found on previous older non ECU/carb cars (Scimitar SE6B and Dolomite Sprint (what an engine!)) the petrol V power gave a significantly smoother idle/running/acceleration and more MPGs. The extra cost of the fuel was more or less offset by the better consumption so with the added benefit of better running was a no brainer really.

Never even considered it for the 1.9 MJET, til now.
I'll give it a go.
