it's not on the back of the head unit by any chance is it? I'm sure my old standard ford stereo had one on the back, which I only noticed when I took it out to put an aftermarket one in.

I really have no idea?!?

I think i will have to take out unless anbody can help...

If you've got Bluetooth/ Blue&Me it's the USB port in the glovebox (left hand side) for connecting up your MP3 player to listen to your music through the radio.

You should have a separate manual for the radio.

Hi,

I'm thinking of the Ipod connector for my standard headunit which came with my 1.4 Active Sport. Do I have to take the headunit out to plug in the Ipod connector or can I get access to the back of the headunit from behind the fascia?

Thanks

Yes the head unit has to come out - this is easily done by making 2 u shape tools from an old metal coat hanger or you can buy them from h**Fords.
You only have to do this once and you can locate the ipod where ever you want as the cable is quite long.

Where do you insert the "coathangers" to remove the headunit - I've noticed a few holes on the front of the headunit - are the screws in there?

There are four small holes on the front of the radio - there are no screws
On some radios there are anti-theft grub screws in the holes to prevent thieves removing the radio in about 30 seconds.

The screws have to be removed first using a small allen key. Not all radios have them though (up to the factory/dealer to fit them after the radio was installed so easy to forget/not bother).

If you have them fitted don't forget to refit them to prevent the aforesaid thief making off with your radio!

i currently have an 06 grande punto sporting, and have blue and me. whenever i plug my iphone 5s into the usb socket provided nothing happens, not even charge my iphone or anything. could this be because my usb isnt working on it or is it due to the iphone 5s being too modern for it possibly ??

I had the same problem looked into it and I think the iphone is too modern for blue and me. A few people said try putting an aux in the back of the stereo but that doesn't work either so I've resorted to using a memory stick. Some people say actually replacing the stereo completely for a new one with an aux built into it works but I haven't tried it so couldn't tell you but memory sticks work well enough for me even though it is abit annoying not being able to use my phone.

The reason the USB stick works is because of the file types. The system was designed for windows (according to a sticker in my glovebox) so unfortunately it won't work for iPhones as they do not use .mp3 files. If anyone knows otherwise please tell me it will help a lot. Look in the blue and me manual for some more info. I think iphone store music as .aac or something?

That's correct, except not sure on the file type apple use. If you wish to use an iPhone in your usb slot you will need to get the blue & me adapter available on the fiat accessories website, currently priced at £62.95. Quite steep, but you can then use your punto as a giant docking station. Spotify also works really well with the steering wheel controls.

Might be a good idea to check eBay as I picked mine up for £49, if you can save a bit on it then it doesn't seem such an extortionate price. However the money I saved on buying a new one, I've just spent on buying a 2m lighting cable from curry's so it reaches my window mount... But hey, if you want an endless library of music, it's a small price to play for the amount of use it gets!

Simplest solution for me on headunit with no bluetooth was the kit off eBay which includes the forks for removing the headunit and the 3.5mm cable with plug adaptor. I have found however that you do get a bit of noise. Also the quality of the cables vary greatly depending on the supplier

Apple use .MP3 files also. you need to buy an iPhone adaptor because of the way Apple sends the audio out through the connector. Later model blue and me work fine. Anything less than 2010 generally need the iPhone adaptor. The adaptor will work with the old and new cables used on iPhones. The original fat connector and the new lightning cable that Apple use for the iPhone 5 on. The clever thing is it also allows you to use the steering wheel controls to skip songs. I use an app called Deezer. Which is much like spotify, just plug it in, press shuffle. And you don't have to touch your phone again as you just skip through the tracks using the steering wheel. If you have all your music in the built in music app you can even look through the songs using the screen in the dashboard. It will display them by artist, song or album. The other good thing is if you put your Bluetooth on as well you can make calls and listen to music without ever taking your hands off the wheel or touching your phone.

Just google blue and me iPhone adaptor and you will find it.

(I drive a fiat bravo but the blue and me systems are the same, and I'm using an iPhone 5 which has the same connector as your 5S)

I have the same problem, I have just brought my Punto Grande Sporting, 56 reg, will it have a aux connection or can i install one? Also in the glove compartment ive seen the usb adapter but i cannot play any music from a memory stick or my iphone 5? HELP ASAP

Hey guys, just bought my first punto and looking for some advice on the aux?? Have looked through the posts so felt I was pretty prepared when I went to halfords to get the converter/connector ready to attach it myself! When I asked the guy, he told me that I had to go to a fiat specialist to get the adapter and to get it fitted, an then they could fit the AUX cable! Is this true?
