well, post here for your impressions...

the guy himself was very knowledgeable, talking to him gave me confidance...

after a two hour drive home, I can report, the difference in the car is quite suprising.... feels like it has enough power now! feels like it IS a proper hot hatch, instead of a warm one! performance is stronger in all the gears, and it has a deffinate turn of speed, that makes it much more enjoyable to drive. This is how they should have made it from the factory! lol...

MPG on the way there 43.5 - on the way back, 49.1 !! :D
(exactly the same type of driving, I didn't go overboard thrashing it at every oppertunity....)

(y) (y) to angel tuning....

What can I say???? Thanks Angel Tuning. Performs fantastically now. The grin on Sharkriders face after he test it post remap said it all!

The car really does pull now. Second is a fun gear!!!! Although I feel tyres may well need replacing sooner now, especially since it easily spins in second now.

Would recomend this to every 1.9 owner.

Any further info required ask away and I'm sure we have 4 very happy angel tuned GP owners after today.

Nice to meet you as well.

cant wait to get mine done now when it finally arrives. how many miles did ya clock up b4 ya got it done? how does it change the 0-60 figures? think they quote that they can get about 7.6 secs cant they?

mine has 3,800 miles on it now.... 1st still feels weak, but it does in every turbo diesel! I reccon 0-60 in 7.5 seconds is about right........

forget 0-60 though... the mid range (a-road overtaking speeds) is fantastic...

you won't regret it (y)

sweet lads, cheers for that. defo getting it done. (y) let us know if it gets better and better aswell. give us some weekly updates or summat.

Agree with the other guys, im very pleased with the results. As has been said already, first gear still isnt great, but it is very short intentionally so that cant be helped.

The 0-60 time you quoted is what i got out of a performance calculator, which before having it done, i thought was a little optimistic. Since driving back, it definatley seems possible.

Thanks again to Alex for arranging it all, and obviously to Nige. Nice bloke to talk to, have a lot of faith in his work, will certainly be recommending him to everyone.

Good to meet some of the FF members as well, even though it was only for a short time.

We were told that it would take around an hour per car including pre and post testing. However, it was done in much less than that. I got there at about half 10 and by 12 3 cars were done and gone. Really was good service.

well the 1.9 sporting has a partical filter so shouldn't smoke at all! I've noticed the odd tiny puff if you floor it from less than 2k, but its as good as clear..... (y)

Yeah i must say its not too bad at all really. I noticed that when one of the GPs being re-mapped was taken for its pre-map test it smoked a bit when he floored it but on the post-map test there was nothing at all.

Certainly havent noticed any since mine was done.

well im the last of the 4 remaps from sunday to post.
as all the others have said it is DEFINATELY worth having done.
it took less than 20 mins to do via a laptop computer without removing the ECU.the turbo feels much stronger in all gears and first is nearly liveable with now, second and third put a sile on your face :-0
i am very hard to please as i own a clio 182 ,the GP punto sporting is my wifes.
it's still not as nibble as mine but it would now be a close run thing from 30 -70 mph.
as for mpg i was getting arond 45 mpg on a 125 mile trip there and 55 mpg on the way back(i was driving slower because of the monsoon rain) so would agree that it is now even better after tunning :)
great value if you can get some others together we all paid £260 which i think is excellent for the power and economy gains you get.
i paid more than that for my clio and only got about 10 bhp more :-(
i used to hate deisel cars before test driving the GP but with the price of fuel going up and petrol hot hatching drinking fuel like its going out of fashion(17 mpg on a tuned focus st) i will be looking to convert myself next year.
the guy from angel reccomended the alfa GT 1.9 said they are getting 195 out of them on a remap so that will be on my test drive list.
dont wait do it now you know it makes sense :)

nice little review....

And I see more and more owners like yourself.... on briskoda, people are selling civic typre r's and buying fabia vRS's (and or course remapping them) seems the cost of running a nice motor is turning people to diesel power....

stories like "with the type 'r' I was getting 17mpg when driving "briskly", and the vRS is nearly as fast (once up and running) and I'm getting 45 in the same circumstances, with half the service costs, half the road tax, and half the insurance costs.."

I used to have a lancia thema turbo once upon a time, 220 bhp, great car, but that was 10 years ago when fuel had lead in it, and was cheaper, i couldn't live with the 15mpg now! lol....
