Right then, when i originally posted about getting this done a little while ago, not many people liked the idea. However, i did, and thanks to some nice photoshop work by djabbey18 it convinced me to go ahead. I changed my mind a couple of times on the shade i should go for but in the end i picked one that i liked but could not explain to anyone else, lol.

The car went in to my mate yesterday and i got it back this afternoon. Here are some quick pics for everyone to comment on. Im happy with them so if you dont like, dont worry about saying so :D . (Excuse the lack of enthusiasm with the pics, it was parked quite close to a wall and it was hammering it down, ill add some more when its had a good clean (y) )

Looks pretty good I reckon! I'll give you the final verdict when you get some full car shots.

So is the finish on them the same as new or is it different?

Thanks. Yeah i will try and get them up asap. Hopefully the weather will pick up.

Ok well, i didnt want a glossy finish i wanted more of a matt sort of look. As i said it was a mate doing it so i went and spent some time with him mixing some colours and in the end he mentioned about mixing some laquer into the paint instead of laquering it at the end. I went with this and the result is fantastic. Its a very smooth finish but other than that very similar to the originals.

looking nice mate.
get some red abarth badges on those wheels they will look much better then!

Thanks for the responses guys. Im glad everyone likes it so far, i thought it was just going to be me (i know thats all that matters but i still like other people to like it). My red wheel centres are ready and waiting, as soon as it stops raining they will be going on.

hmm i dont know bout these, not cos of the idea, love the idea, just not sure about what colour car they should be on. i always loved black wheels on yellow cars, but the red looks alright :) If they were on a black car i dont think i'd like them too muich. but good work all the same :D

I'm generally not a fan of black alloy wheels, although they can look good on red cars; and I must admit I was weary about how yours would turn out, but they look great. Your mate has done a grand job on them, the paint looks fantastic.

Yeah i agree with you, i love the look of black wheels on yellow cars. The main reason i decided to give it a go is because one of my neighbours has it done on his red 205 1.9 GTi and i thought it looked  .

Thanks, i obviously know that it isnt going to be to everyones taste but if nothing else, like you commented on, the paint job itself is fantastic. I couldnt have asked for anything better.

Yeh I was working at a rally in wales a few months back and there was a red 205 with black alloys two paddocks up, did look tasty i must admit, not so tasty when returning from the stage though!

look good matey!! i like them!

im thinking of having mine done anthracite :)

Yeah i was thinking about that, it was difficult to choose a colour because the car is red. Black, silver or grey cars would be much easier to choose for.

Indeed it does. Lol, i can imagine.

Come on we're still waiting for full length photos Rich...is your camera broken? :p

Yeah i no sorry mate, the weather has been awful since they were done. Today isnt looking too bad though but im at work. Im gonna try and nip out to the car park in a minute and take some. Gonna try and tack the badges on to get an idea about them too.

Right then, i managed to get out for a minute. Pics still arent great but there is a full car shot. I also tacked the red wheel centres on, what do people think? (Ignore the white round the edges, i obviously had to leave the backing on)
