215/40/17 would go on ok (when I ran the vRS I changed the 205/45/16's for 215/40/16's with no problem) but I wouldn't reccomend it if you have the 1.9 with ESP, as the ESP system will become confused with the slightly different rolling radius, and throw up an error message, or not operate correctly! they even reccomend you use the same type of tyre as fitted as standard (i.e. the XL bridgestone) so the ESP will operate correctly (I wouldn't go that far, as I don't like the bridgestone, but I will be fitting an extra load tyre when I replace, maybe a toyo, or F1...)

If you have the 1.4 (comes without ESP doesn't it?) the I wouldn't worry, and the 215 would prolly be fine :) I really wouldn't reccomend messing though if your car has ESP... It may save your life one day ;)

Thank you for your reply.I have ESP. I am thinking of changing at least the rear tyres to 215 and i dont'n know if i can keep the same wheel 17'' or i must put another.
