i bought some meguiars stage 2 (polish) and stage 3 (wax) i spent about 15 mins on the bonnet but couldn't b bothered to do anymore, it didn't look like it was doing anything anyway, just smeary.

hey, did you wash the car before hand? if not then it will just pick up on all the surface contaminants and smear around them.

also, you should get some clay to remove them, this will be my next step, might invest in some today!! :D

how long did you leave each product to dry before removing it? i usually leave mine for about half an hour to 45 minutes unless it can't be helped and the car is in direct sunlight...

yea i washed it before hand, i didnt know i had to leave it on for a bit, it didnt say that on the instructions, i just applied it with the application pad and then rubbed it with the mitt. maybe i put too much polish on in the first place.

i would certainly recommend the smooth clay kit by meguairs, its £23 from halfrauds and its 3 for 2 aswell, so you could get a few other bits too. i also bought the step 2 and 3. only done the bonnet and nearside front wing, but wow!!! it is as smooth as glass and looks like a mirror. when you say it went all smeary, how do you mean?

i was in a bit of a rush hence only doing two panels, but i applied the step one (which you get a small bottle of with the clay kit) then left it for about 10 minutes and removed it and did the same with the step two and three and it all came off fine!! the thinner you put the product on the quicker it will dry and the easier it will be to remove! :)

what colour do you have mate?
