Here's what I'm planning to do (pending approval from my girlfriend):
  • Tint windows
  • Add twin white go-faster stripes to the centre
  • Change wheels to white alloys
  • Debadge the Punto badge, which seems to be 'in' (optional)
  • Smoke indicator shield (optional)
The colour theme is to marry New Orleans blue with white, and to add a bit of darkness through the windows. I did a very quick mock up in Paint (don't have PhotoShop); its rough, so you'll need to be somewhat imaginative. I wanted to see what the effect night and day would have, hence the blue appears to have a different shade.

Any comments/opinions are much appreciated :)

Not sure about the two white stripes. Have you looked at one thick stripe off centre. I think the Panda Sport thing has one like that though can't say i'm convinced stripes would add anything to the appeal of the car looks a bit naff IMO.

If a stripe can ruin the look of a Ferrari then it can ruin any car!!

Yep, adding my two cents I'd say the stripes don't work, I know it would look better if photo shopped but I still don't think stripes would suit the car. To be honest stripes tend to suit chunky cars like the mini, not but cars like the GP.

If you're going to do central stipes they've got to be wider than the ones you've photoshopped on. Those look far too puny. Also, silver stripes would look nicer against the metallic blue paintwork.

Cheers for the comments guys. I'm actually a bit surprised the white stripes was hard to swallow for most people. Iirc I've never seen a road car with them (except the Renault Clio, which is standard I think), so part of the idea is to stand out (and with the help of the white alloys). I know its not a Sporting, but its always nice to dress up a plain looking car, right? I don't know, personally I think it would look good.. :chin:

They are being put on to cover the dent ;)

I see someone's paid attention. Part of the idea also is to hide the dent on the hatchlid, which is driving me me insane! :bang: And widening the stripes would definitely help in that regard.

The key question that would determine if its a red or green light is whether the stripes can be taken off if I end up not liking it - can they? (I think I know the answer but let's double check)

i like the stripes idea but if ur gonna do it i think its gotta b 2 thick stripes down the middle not offset or one thick one thin, but then again its each to their own and thats why all our cars on here are sligtly different. but id say give it a try and wen you do show me the pics :D lol

Agree - it was wee hours when I did them last night so probably could have done better. Just wanted to get a bit of an idea of how it would look. And MS Paint sux for things like this..

Since the photos doesn't show the whole car from all angles, you'll need to imagine the tinted windows, white stripes down the center and white alloys doing a group hug to show the effect.

So it rains alot over there then;)

Not really.. it did rain yesterday so I couldn't go bushwalking with my parents :(

i cant see how vinyl is going to cover up a dent, vinyl moulds to the shape of the bodywork when stuck on, so your still going to see the dent, even more probably cos the stripes will draw attention to it lol

Well I can't actually feel the dent and it appears to be normal looking, but when I look at the reflection it actually bends as oppose to be straight, that's how I know there's a very slight dent there. Anal I know, but its driving me insane!!!

I know things like that p*ss you off,my car was parked and some one hit it and there is only a very slight dent and a bit of a scratch not too much but i was so annoyed with it.

I know you guys must think I'm crazy or need to get a life, and I understand eventually the car will get scratched and dented. But seeing the position of where it is, I thought its a good time to start dressing up the car..

passemger side stripe is the only way to go Kev.
It isn't a yank tank it's Italian class. :p

I didn't know go-faster stripes are American?

Tinted windows - (y)
White alloys - (y)
White stripe - (n)

You know if you get stripes on your car no one will let you out of side streets :D
