just been brousing the wh smiths library and came accross the above autoexpress head to head, only had a brief read but the punto pipped the mini overall.one thing i did think was how brilliant the punto looked against the mini.the punto is a classy looking motor.everyone raved about the minis looks when it came out but i now think it starts look a bit boring.my mates got a mini and the inside of the car is really tacky the indicator storks look like kids toys,he's also had a lot of problems with the car,ive never known a car with so many rattles.and at the end of the day there not a cheap car to buy in the first place.for all the problems fiat have they know how to style cars.:)

my dad gets the mag and read it. the punto stood up well and looked every bit as good, if not better. my dad was thinkin of gettin the cooper D as his next car too. maybe not if its not as good as mine tho lol. your right about the mini's interior too...

i know the changes are only minor, but the car used was a pre MY07 model (not that it matters) but its just something typical of autoexpress... they're not a very good magazine imo, but it was a good result for the MJ Sporting imo... :) although the mini was more expensive and only a 1.6, then they ramble on about how much quicker the GP is in gear... well obviously!

they have the 0-60 time down as 8.9seconds for GP, and i think the mini down as 9.2seconds 9might be 9.5, cant quite remember now) but i doubt they will have tested this themselves. :p

gets slated for the buttons on the seats although they 'hark' back to italian sports cars of old, and a sloppy-ish gear change.
