Hi all, new to the forum. Ive at the mo got a 54 plate hgt but have the chance to change it for a ex demo sporting 130. My hgt has the works and is nice and quick/powerfull. The new one has a few extras..ie climate control and cruise control. One thing im worried about tho is the loss of speeeeeed. Im in no way a boy racer but its still a nice feeling to have it under ya foot.
What do you all think????
Swap or not {:O)

I would swap, it is so much more comfy inside with a better, high quality feel to everything and is a much nicer ride, plus with a re-map i think u would leave a hgt in big clouds of black smoke, but dont quote me on that!!
Plus it looks hundreds times better!

Ex hot hatch owner - happily converted to diesel warm hatch philosophy. :)

Quicker than 0-60 would suggest too.

depends on what the money sistuation would me... will it cost you alot to swap? i.e. the money you have spent on the hgt??

angel tuning offer a remap to take the power to 170bhp and 303Nm of torque... whih, when you put the figures into the letstorquebhp calculator along with the weight 1205kg (although you should by rights add your weight too!) it brings up a 0-60 time of around 7.6 seconds iirc!! :) hth.

p.s. i'm swapping from a megane 225 trophy to one, and tbh, yes the difference in speed is notieable, but its not bad in gear!!!

I went from a Punto GT to the GP Sporting, not as quick obviously, but it has enough power to keep me happy.

I've just done the very same swap!
From an '03 HGT to '06 Grande 130 Sporting.
Aside from it being a much, much better built car IMHO, it's more comfortable, quiet and has a fair few more toys.
Then there's the very useful sixth gear, which I think the HGT *really* needed.
Add the insurance group dropping from 14 to 6, and road tax bracket from F to D, you are looking at quite a bit of savings. And of course, if you drive frugally, you will get better economy than the petrol HGT.
I shall be getting mine remapped, and if the map is anything like the one I have on my Stilo, the Grande should leave most HGT's behind in a puff of smoke.
I'd do it if you can.....

Dave.

Cheers all.
One of my best m8s is a manager at a fiat dealership and has let me know that it was coming in. Its an ex demo with a a couple of k miles on it. He thinks its got the climate control and cruise control added and its in black. Thats all i know about it tho.
My cars a 54 plate and in top nick. I havent got a clue how much thats worth tho. We went to Wales on easter monday and it was a lovely feeling opening it up. The hgt is so underated. Ihad a go in a Jag sport 2L diesel few days ago and i wouldnt swap it for the equipment or speed. Mine was far better on both.
Im very nieve about deisels in general and deffo the remapping side. How much would it cost/does it effect the warranty and insurance etc???
Even if it added a couple of groups onto my insurance it will still be a lot less than the group 14 of the hgt.
Thanks for all the replies...we really cant deciode what to do :bang:

test driving one tomorrow. If im happy with the power and poke it'll be mine in a week. {;o)
Brand new one in orange on the forcourt :D
