Just a quick question regarding to the adding of the rear boot mounted power socket



"I've just fitted a power point in the rear,the hole is there and so is the plug from the wiring loom,just buy a spare power point from fiat,(about £9.50 inc vat) dismantle the bulb bit,plug it in,it fits into the hole and hey presto,you have an extra power point,I use it for my laptop and fone."

what bulb bit did you have to dismantle?

Did you have to insert the relevent fuse and if so which one and what rating

and what can you draw off it 15amps ?

the power socket comes with a bulb attatchment which lights the orangy bit in your cig lighter,with this on its a ballache trying to get it through the hole,take it off gently and its much easier,the fuse is already in place.and its a 20 amp fuse

one more Q does it turn off with the ignition or stay live?

Am i missing something here? Whats needed to fit a rear power socket as I asked Fiat when I ordered my car and they want £60 to fit one and didn't seem sure on how to do it.

It turns off with the ignition off,live when its on.

Rear Ciggy Power Point

After reading on this thread about adding a power point in the boot I have this question.

Should the 1.9 sporting come with a power point already installed in the boot? Ive just gotten my sporting (MY) however its just the hole.

My friend has the 1.9 (Older Model) sporting and has the power point installed in the boot by default????

Really? My dealer said it wasn't an option and no Grande's came with one. They want to charge me £60 to fit one!

Peeps,

Anyone out there confirm if they have got a power point in there boot?

Ive come across two peeps now that have one on the older 1.9 and one on the 1.4 my sporting.

Im starting to think ive been done, if so a dealer trip tomorrow i feel...

I've got one on my 07 model though it's a "Sport" not a "Sporting"

I have a fully live and factory fit Cigarette Lighter in my boot... I did not ask for this as on option as a dealer has suggested... I feel a letter is coming on to Fiat Italia for you folks that haven't got one....
Ehem... Dear Mr. Marchione, You seem to have forgotten to install the power socket in the boot.. Please can you personally find one to install and tell your Representative in England to get his/her ass over here and fit it..

just pulled the boot liner to one side and mine being an active Doesnt have a fuse box in the back let alone a socket for adding a fag lighter socket :bang: all there is are the wires for the lights and the towbar relay unit with the s o d i n g pizzo sounder for the indicators now much quieter with the introduction of a foam ear plug in its hole..

Has anyone done this yet, really want to do this, will be VERY useful. Would it be possible for anyone that has done it to put a guide in the guides section? Also, does anyone have the part number for the power socket so that I can order it from my dealer.

John, where did you get your power socket from, have you got a part number for it. I just phoned my dealer and they want 23 quid!!!!!!
