hi all. having had a gp sporting 1.9 for almost a year now and are well used to the 130bhp power.i decided to get an increase in power i didnt like the thought of a remap too much hassle to change it back for servicing and repairs to the garage its allways going in????i decided to go for the tunit box.power is up to 175bhp and the torque is awsome around 280lbs not newton metres remember.0-60 takes about 7sec and have taken it to the speedos limit easily 140mph.it cost me£427 and is well worth it.oh i forgot to say in normal driving i am averaging the high 40s in mpg.so if anyone is planning to give there car a power increase give there site a visit

why would you want to go back to standard map for repairs or servicing? i know several people who have had remaps and it hasnt affected warranty since the dealer has no way of knowing unless they get it on a rolling road, and lets be honest, there's more chance of a man getting pregnant.

Surely it's more hard work to uninstall the tunit box each time you need to go to the dealers..

they usually come with an adapter that you plug into the ecu connector and ecu and tuning box, so you can remove it all easily enough. but still, its more hassle than having a remap. i guess a bonus is its easily removable when you sell the car, allowing it to be sold seperately to make a few more quid back.

Thats awesome performance!!!! Think i would still go for the remap tho!

are these figures from the manufacturer or are they actually proven? also, how dod you time the 0-60? stop watch? weems a little optimistic to me mate, sorry.

buy one and try it 4 yourself if you dont believe me i done it with a pessenger holding a stopwatch okay may not be the exact to the100th of a sec but it is close to 7.5sec.

the box isn't on their site, and none of the ones that are show anywhere near as much gains as you have.
i spoke to daniel johnstone of tunit he remapped the box for me the standard tunit box puts out 160bhp i think.i was advised to go no further than 170bhp over that you need a limited slip diff ie the torque over powering the front wheels.a common fault in small cars with too much power

i dont think an l.s.d. would be needed at all, just a little more clutch control. :) the tunit box sounds good :)

Keep us posted with your experience. I'm very interested in the Tune it box as I live in Chile and getting a re-map is out of the question.

Enjoy the extra power wisely.

hey i have a tunit box, cost me 160 second hand off ebay, had it on rolling road at tunit hq in chorley and first time got 161.9bhp and 236ilbs of torque, asked it can get any more and now after a second rr sesion its got 174.bhp and 270ilbs of torque, i did a 0-60 test with a mate holding stop watch and i got 7.2 secs after several runs.

at last a fellow TUNIT BOX gp driver £160 thats a good price.but i think the gaurentee stops at the 1st owner?174bhp thats great i spoke to them told them the standard bhp for the box wasnt enough 155 a think so they up to 170bhp but its really good fellow remap gp drivers on the forum are a little dubious of the power gains done by it they prefer the remap.all the english companies that do the remaps where too far away for me.in scotland their aint a lot of firmsdo remaps and the 1s that did only quoted 155bhp.but anyway glad i aint alone.the gps tinit squad :slayer: :slayer: :slayer: :slayer:

so how exactly do you fit the tunit box? is it easy? i bin e-mailing nige from angel tuning so i prob gonna go ahead with them but this tunit box sounds pretty good.

Tell you what, buy a resister box, fit it to your car then get a remap done. If the remap provides more power, cleaner and more progressive then pay us, if it doesnt we will pay for your resistor box!

EVERYTHING that a resistor box does can be done with a remap - its as simple as that becuase all they do is alter the signal being sent by the ECU - therefore we can alter that signal the same.

If you have no alternative, as in the case of the Gent in Chile, then yes great, but dont pay £470 for something that can be done properly for a lot less!

Actually - can you get flights to Chile for £470......
