I have the perfect sub for the grande punto it adds the bass lacking in the factory speaker set up, but does not take up much of the boot space no nails or glue needed for fitment wires cannot be seen at all.
i bought the sub and was going to check the dimensions of the sub to see if it would fit in the grandes boot, but it was rainin so i bought it anyway. Am very glad i didnt check as acording to the dimensions it doesnt fit, but it does perfectly the flanges it has for screwing in fit in between the boot and seat and gets clamped in. pics explain better.
o n it has its own amp and controls and an added bass control nob thing that i av fitted in the front just in the weird compartment infront of the gear stick.

yeah i know i have got a sub and aftermarket headunit too, what one you got?

That's brilliant... fits perfectly and takes up NO boot space!

Legend! (y)

nope i have not found a place that sells the steering wheel adapters yet, but they will be around 50 quid i believe!

That looks absolutely ace, fits perfectly. How much was it? It's probably a better bet than the factory fit one too. If you can link it up to the standard head unit that would be useful, it's a good place to start! Going to check one of these out...

I picked it up for £180 off ebay buy it now, they r still bein sold on there, proper shops sell them for 200-300+. its easy to fit just like other subs but the grande punto makes it difficult to run to the battery just a tight squeeze. U can link it up with the factory HU with adapters they r cheap about £5.
I have not hurd the factory subwoofer sum of the cars have but the bass from the basslink T is more then enough for me and the bass control nob is very useful making it easy to turn down if ur mums in the car or turn up to do a lil bit of showin off.

I got my GP with the factory sub last week and while it's certainly better than not having a sub but I'm used to a the 12" Infinity Kappa boxed sub (pic attached) that I had in my Corsa.

This looks like a very interesting solution and I notice it's got high level inputs so I could use the wires already fitted to go to the factory sub...

running a feed to the battery is a very easy ;)

lift the bonnet and unscrew the scuttle panel (see foglight wiring guide in the GP guide section)

on the left (passenger side) you will see the bulkhead grommit

stab a hole in that and feed your wire into it.

leave enough to reach the battery ( i run a wire inside the plastic conduit that the rest of the loom runs it)
stick your hand up the back of the glove box and you can pull the wire into the cabin.

once in the cabin remove the 2 screws on the pass side running boar and pull upwards (it has several friction fixings)

feed the wire this void (avoiding placing over the friction mounting holes unless you want to damage the wire)

once at the back *(i can only go by a three door car as thats what i have)*

feed a length of bamboo cane ( i used a fibre glass cable drawing kit) from the boot you can just see a hole into the body above the carpet and below the parcel shelf side pieces/ hinge area into this void and slowly feed it in till it hits the door pillar area..

undo the screw which is under the running board to release the rear card it needs a pull as it has a few spring clips.

once partly unclipped you only need about 4" stick your hand in and feel for the cane pull about 6" out and tape the cable to it

go back to the boot and slowly pull it though the void ( get a mate to feed it from the other end)

Then put the car back together

AND REMEMBER TO SEAL THE CABLE AT THE BULK HEAD GROMMIT WITH SILICONE

Thanks for that lol
O n am i the first to have the Basslink T in the grande punto? is it a discovery?

The sub is a 10" single sub in the middle the other two circles are passive radiators thats jargon for extend the bass and give the designers an excuse to make it look better and make it seem like it has 3subs i think. correct me if im wrong/if you know that they do anything more.

This looks like its exactly what im after. Does anybody know how easy it would be to use my existing wiring for my factory sub to wire one of these? Would it even be possible?

Keeping the steering wheel controls and the factory headunit is a must so adding something like this and uprating the speakers is probably going to be the best i can do for the time being.

Most importantly Smally - how does it sound?

Have you heard a 10" or 12" boxed sub to give a comparison?

Oh and here's the pic I meant to upload earlier of my old Infinity sub.

I have herd some 12"s no other 10"s the bass is more punchy then a 12" less of the deep drone but is adjustable to suit what most people want. I like this sub as it doesnt just sound like its coming from the boot sounds like its all the speakers doing the work as it fills the car. Its not an ultimate bad boy sub that as it wont shake other peoples cars when your in traffic.

Also I was wondering, as the sub panel is simply 'sandwiched' between the boot edge and the rear seats, do you have an problem with unwanted vibration between the actual unit and the surrounding?

At the moment i have no problem with this except for when i have it on its max ther is vibration noise but but by this point your rear view mirror is useless as it is shaking way to much to concentrate on anything in it.
I am goin to put some foam in between the back of the sub and the back of the seats just so i know that i can have good sound even to those extremes that i wont be listening to anyway.

Hope this helps you both and others if you need any more info or have any sujestions how i can make the description of how it sounds better or more technical then just reply.

Can you give us a make and model number. Will have to look this up and get one for mine. I love it. It is perfect and takes up no room.
