Oh no! CANCHECK appeared.

[DISCLAIMER]
I am not responsible for any damage made to the car or the radio. I followed the below operation and everything worked fine. Everything you make is your own responsibility!

--------------------------------------------------------------

So you've got tired of your old radio and you also want to have a beautiful stock look without spending too much money? You can buy a second-hand stock unit from another person. I bought mine at 40 euros + 10 euros shipping. It is in perfect condition and it also plays mp3.

But, because the car wasn't equipped with this radio, the cables CAN A and CAN B are missing.

As a result the message "CANCHECK" appears and you can't operate your new radio.

GOOD NEWS! After some research, i've found the solution and everything works fine.

What will you need:
  • Double cable approx. 1 meter (if you cant find double, just get 2 normal cables at the same size)
  • 2x iso connectors like in the image below. It will be better if you can find connectors with the wire attached already so you will win some time
  • Multimeter (maybe)

Re: CANCHECK Solution

Hi! I followed these instructions exactly, the radio unit works, but now the mileage flashes and I cannot execute PROXI Alignment Procedure. I get these errors: B10AA - PROXI configuration control and U0019 - B CAN line.

I've contacted my local Fiat dealership but they don't know how to make a proxi alignment (!) also i don't have the equipment so i can't perform it myself.

Anyway i left it as is. If there is anyone that has a solution please post it.

hi! try finding someone around you who have multiecuscan and is able to help you with the proxi alignment procedure, like your local fiat group.

Re: CANCHECK Solution

Hi,
As first i want to say thanks for the very usefull manual. I have done all as you said and it worked as a charm. But ... ... after proxi alignment, in the menu on the instrument cluster multifunction display, new option "SEE RADIO" appears. After i turn it on and toggle through display functions to see radio info on screen, it says "NO CD" (even with my Mp3 radio turned on). Does anyone knows which connection is missing?

PS. Sorry for my bad english.
