this is my first attempt at a guide so if it is rubbish, tell me how to edit.
first thing to do is remove the old head unit, once this is done, you need to remove the leather gaiter around the gear stick,
then, USING HEAVY GAUGE wire, you need to get some cable down from where the HU will sit. through the little gap above the passenger foot-well, you can see this when you look down to the foot-well from where th HU goes.
then when you have got the cable to poke out through here. you need to get it down to the floor (whilst its behind the plastic) and back up to the inside of the gear stock & handbrake area.

right. tricky stuff over with. lets begin the important bit:
you need to unplug the connector for the Cigarette lighter, then splice into the RED cable only and attach your new cable to this
MAKE SURE THE CONNECTION IS WELL MADE AND STRONG. AND NO LOSE WIRES ARE HANGING OUT!
once this is done you can put everything back together near the gear stick and move up to working in the HU area.
on the back of YOUR head unit, you need to cut the RED LIVE wire going directly into the HU & connect this to the new cable you have installed.

now your pretty much done,
2 things to note: DO NOT USE SCOTCH LOCKS & MAKE SURE ALL WIRES ARE INSULATED WHEN YOU CUT / SPLICE
