500's To The Ring, a chance for 500, seicento & Cinquecento owners to have a fun trip to the mighty Nurburgring.

I've started a facebook page

It's about £40 for a crossing at the moment through Norfolklines

CAmping is about £10 a night at the 'ring campsite.

Dates as follows

Thurs 30th Sept - arrive in Germany, ring open all day
Fri 1st Oct - evening session, allowing for a day exploring the area
Sat 2nd Oct - 'ring open for a full day
Sun 3rd Oct - 'ring open for a full day
Mon 4th Oct - 'ring open for a full day, return home

lol..

Here's my video's of the Nurburgring. Best time 8 minutes 57 seconds :D

and another lap

and another lap in the wet.... which I said I would never do !

I wanted to do the June event but it's 1) quite costly 2) not a good date for me 3) involve taking too much of my anual leave. So I thought I'd organise something for others too.

To be fair, 1) its not costly, cant see why it would be any cheaper in October  2) some people are only coming for a few days due to work 3) same as 2.

Im not trying to pick at you, but it does seem that "500's to the Ring" would exclude many others that might want to go with you

Please can we not turn yet another thread into a slanging match, can we please keep all input related to THIS trip.

Nobody is stopping them from organising a trip are they? The Spa Italia/'ring trip didn't suit me due to time of year/cost involved, so I took the intiative & thought I'd get off my arse & organise something

The cost of the Spa/'ring trip is going to be IRO £600 for crossing & accom by my calcs.

This weekend will be IRO £100 for crossing & accom (slum it in tents, but I like camping).

We arent anywhere near spending that for 5 of us :)

To be fair if you were to tag along I suspect no one would be too bothered. This thread started off in the 500 section hence the title.

I'm not sure why the hostility towards this event, somebody trys to organise an event for like minded 500 drivers and everybody jumps on him for it, quite surprised.

Let's face it if anybody said they wanted to tag along we're not going to say "get stuffed" are we??????

Nothing wrong with an event geared for one model anyway; can do some great photos, everyone will have something in common to talk about and it will be quite an adventure.

We have enough multi-meets throughout the year to kill the need to start fights everytime someone wants to try and do something special (y)

Hey hey, no hostility just unsure of how that estimate of £600 came about and how it could be much lower in september.

From this sent to me when I voiced an interest.........

Ferry/euro tunnel : approx £120
The hotel we are using in spa : £180 for 6 people for two nights
Spa weekend entry : £60
Extras at spa : as per link in thread, but track time from £60 an hour
Hotel at ring £45 a night, we are staying 4 nights
Laps at ring are about £20 a time
Petrol, figure for about 1200-1300 miles
Laps on track, whatever your mpg is reduce by 75%!!!!
Food, drinks, etc

Woah Woah.... thats stupid money. Im a student, I dont have that amount to spend

Ferry/euro tunnel : £50
The hotel we are using in spa : £37 EACH 3 nights
Spa weekend entry : £60
Extras at spa : £60 track time
Hotel at ring £45 a night, we are staying 1 night
Laps at ring are about £20 a time
Petrol, figure for about 1200-1300 miles £100

I make that to be around £350. Even cheaper if you are taking other people with you, as the cost of fuel/ferry will be split.....

Im not sure what the big fuss is but if you guys think you can do it cheaper then cool (y) Just wanted to make sure everyone understands, and can make a choice on which trip they want to go on. How do you suggest you cut costs? Save £30 a night in the hotel at the Nurburgring? As from where im looking, the rest of it is unavoidable costs
