Where and when?

I was thinking Lakes or Pennines as a fair few northern/ Scottish people have expressed an interest. July/ August would be best weatherwise

Also need to know people's levels of expertise and fitness. I'd like something quite challenging, might have to run two routes if n00bs wanted to join us and wanted something slower/ more relaxed.

I was thinking July as people will be going on holiday in August? Any preferences?

Also, was thinking about Helvellyn (from Glenridding/ Patterdale) or Skiddaw (from Bassenthwaite) simply for ease of parking for the number of cars we'll have going (most car parks are packed here in the summer), plus both offer low-level routes if needed

How about provisionally say 19th? I know a certain person who'd prefer a Sunday and this far in advance I can get pretty much any day off

Obviously I'll leave the route up to you tho

Me and my girlfriend should be able to make it, Ill have a word tomorrow. We haven’t been to the lakes together yet, where planning to go at somepoint and up to Scotland.

Were both adept, any grade for us.

parking cars could be tricky its usually gone quick on walking routes, like you say helz

Excellent I'll have a little think of some other places with good parking/ scenery and easily accessible - everyone else feel free to chip in also!

Maybe start with a slightly easier route first - something like Pooley Bridge to Patterdale then the lake steamer back to the cars?

Just to make sure we're not likely to expire halfway up one of the biggies?

dunno much about the penines or the lakes but have done grouse mountain in vancouver and regularly go to clent or the malverns.

how hard are the penines or lakes walks or not?

I did skiddaw( with helz help) so anyone can do it lol! the begginer route was easy...ish

But you're young and in shape!

not every young person is in shape. i sure as hell aint even with walking at least 5 miles a day through college and walking my dog. but if you treat yourself like an amusement park its to be expected.

That's why i suggested 2 routes, one for people who want something gentle to stretch their legs and one for the nutters

if i can get to this whenever it happens ill definitely go fo the harder just to bee awkward if nowt else
