January 1988: assembled using highly automated production methods, the Tipo was a five-door, hatchback design. Like the Croma the Tipo was also part of a family of models: in this case the Tipo 2 floorpan was also used for the Lancia Dedra, Fiat Tempra and other several other models.
The vehicle was offered with five engine options: three petrol units (a 1108 cm3 fire derived from the fire unit fitted to the uno, and carb fed 1372 cm3 and 1580 cm3 units) and two diesels (one being turbo charged). The Tipo was available in two trim versions, a base level and the “digit”. The latter, renamed DGT after a few months was equipped with a more comprehensive
range of accessories, as well as digital instrumentation. From September 1991 the 1100cm3 version was produced exclusively for the Portuguese market.

Yes. This coming January marks 20 years since the launch of the Fiat Tipo. The floorplan living on beyond the Tipo in the shape of Bravos, Coupes and even upto the Alfa 156.

To celebrate 20 years the Tipo section welcome all Fiat owners to come along to what will be a warm and friendly meet in the cold months. The 'stars' of the show will of course be the Tipos themselves but we would also love to see all cars based on the Tipo2 floorplan.

The venue is not yet decided but is likely to be somewhere in North Derbyshire, giving plenty of country pub car parks to choose from - as well as plenty of great country roads to drive along.

So if you're looking to meet other owners for the first time, or can't wait until the next chance to catch up with friends - The 20 years of Tipo will be the event to attend.

That's it for now, suggestions of venues, routes to drive or pretty much anything will be appreciated.

Hellcat.

I'd definitely come along... as long as you don't mind a Tipo with a front end that's currently, and probably still will be come January, looking quite 'rough and ready' lol... :( I try!
What about billing aquadrome? Friend held an event for his club there not so long ago, great place, I can get details if it'd be helpful?
