Independant Fiat Specialist with ECU Diagnostic Equipment in HULL

Woodcock car sales and service in hull now have the ECU diagnostic equipment which they hook upto your ECU to fix problems that only Fiat main dealers have been able to fix

They fixed my air bag warning light today in minutes (it was just an error in the ecu!)

And it didn't cost me anything! (i was having other stuff done and it only took him 5 mins)

They are very good and trustworthy by reputation and half the price of main dealer!

If you live 1/2hrs of hull it's worth the drive to fix these ECU related problems

heres the details of the garage:

Hope this helps someone

I too thought of this garage as being one of the few I could trust.

Unfortunately my opinion of Woodcocks has changed recently though due to a discovery I have made whilst performing my own maintenance.

In January whilst my HGT was in for a Cam Belt change & all tensioners & idlers etc. I was billed for the provision & fitting of a new Aux Belt Tensioner. In November I had a strange noise coming from this area of the car so I returned my much loved Bravo to woodcocks for a service and a look to see what the issue was causing the noise.

Well £160 later for the supply & fitting of a new Auxiliary Belt Tensioner & associated belts I went away happy, until yesterday.

Two weeks ago another strange noise presented it self so I decided to remove the wheel & plastic arch protectors & take a look.

All belts have been removed etc and the tensioner of which is pictured below...

I have checked with a few spanner heads & they believe this to be several years old & not 2 months old!

To sum up I have been charged for the supply and fitting of two Auxiliary Belt Tensioners in 2005 and it appears I never received a single new one.

Makes me wonder what else they didn't bother changing the first time round when it was in for the cam belt change!!

the airbag has a potential problem. the code it logged should point to where it possibly is. it could simply be a bad connection somewhere.
the tensioner looks older then 2 months!
get legal help. trading standards or citizen advice are worth a visit or phone call.
i hate garages who rip people off. in future, when having work done, ask for the old parts back. then you know they have done the work. if you can, mark them with a ultra violet marker pen. this will prove the hand-over parts are yours.:)

And this is why if possible i try to do my own repairs i always come away from a garage with that sinking feeling and fingers crossed

I had heard good things too that is why I used them in the first place. But there it is in that picture, it may be only a tensioner but it is something they have lied about in the bill that I received, TWICE!

I don't care what they might say in their defence as it is too late, in future I will make repairs myself unless they are too much for me to handle where I will travel a couple of hunderd miles down to see the guys at PowerFiat.
