Nationwide Crash Repair Centres - Absolutley Crap Service :thumbd:

Was forced to take the Wifes Stilo there (Warwick Branch) for an insurance job to sort out dents from Hail Storm in the Roof and Bonnet.
Original estimate was for 2 weeks - eventually took 7?!
I have to do all the calls / chasing - they never did what they said they would - finally got the car back after 5 weeks - Claim repairs were done but having been told for 3 days running that the car was 'just having its final quality checks', I picked up the car to find:
1.Electric Wing Mirrors Broken
2.Windscreen Washers Broken
3.Wing badge missing
4.Roof rail trim hanging off
5.Dummy C/C Sensor on dash broken
6.Drivers door trim completely loose with bolts still in pocket
7.Car filthy with overspray and rubbish not belonging to me in the car?!?

BE WARNED THIS COMPANY ARE TOTALLY **** - I ONLY WENT THERE AS INSTRUCTED BY MY INSURANCE BUT WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN!

Re: Nationwide Crash Repair Centres - Absolutley Crap Service :thumbd:

who are the insurers? did they not entertain the idea that you can go where you want to? we took the panda down to more thans place for the bumper scrape, but for the big one, even though was done privately, worked out cheaper at a place of our choosing rather than theirs.

i appreciate the hassle of having to wait for their assessor to view the car, but was def worth it when the tub got banged, coz the place i was sent to was essentially a legalised chopshop run by arthur daley!

Re: Nationwide Crash Repair Centres - Absolutley Crap Service :thumbd:

The Insurers were Tesco. They basically told me where to take the car.
With all the problems we had and then discovering all the faults I told them I did not want to take the car back to Nationwide but they said I had to give them the chance to rectify the problems. Eventually got sorted nearly two months down the line?!
Basically my hands were tied by Tesco. Unsuprisingly I will be switching insurers when the current period expires. I have requested my Excess back!

Re: Nationwide Crash Repair Centres - Absolutley Crap Service :thumbd:

I had the same issues with them in Swindon.

Took it in for an insurance job, wing dented, so they replaced and resprayed.

got it back and...

Scratch on rear bumper.
Over spray all over the place.
Broken seat belt!!!!!
Lights did not work!!!!

AND, 6mths later the car started to rust where they fixed it, 6wks later I got the car back, after arguing at there shoddy work. Even after they finished it I had to go some where else to repaire there Cr@p job.
The car was only 12mths old at the time! They distroyed my car. How do they stay in business.

Nationwide Crash Repair Centre Bournemouth - WHAT Customer Service?

Help!
Nationwide Crash Repair (Bournemouth, Wallisdowne Road) have my car and seem to be rather attached to it. I've been fobbed off several times, and told that the parts aren't in, then told the bumper hasn't been resprayed yet (when it is just a plastic bumper, not painted!) Repeated promises to ring me and update me, but this hasn't happened even once!
After LOTS of chasing on my part, I got through to "Nicky" to be told my car was ready and that I could collect it on Saturday 8th Dec 07. I was told by my insurance co that it would be delivered, but "Nicky" told me they had no free slots this week. So I interrupted my weekend away, was about to leave to collect my car, when "Nicky" rang and said that due to the bad weather, the "lad" couldn't get my car from the back of the lot. Why was it there when they'd told me on 6th that the car would be accessible? I demanded they deliver my car to me today and was told, again by the lovely "Nicky" that they could do that no problem (a free slot? never!). I rang today during my lunch break and was told (this time by Sarah) that although he was behind schedule, the delivery driver had my vehicle and would deliver it today. I was also assured that the car key would be put through my letterbox, and not left on the wheel as was suggested when they originally collected the car - you guessed it: "Nicky"!

So I arrived home after a long day at work and guess what? No car!

I rang Natonwide as soon as I got in, not a little irritated, and asked where my car was. The ever-present "Nicky" told me that the driver had been behind schedule and so had taken my car back to the garage. It seems no-one thought to tell me that, not a phone call, not a text message, not even a voicemail. Flowers maybe would have been over the top, but you see where I'm heading with this..........

On top of that, I had a letter from Drive Assist telling me to "get in touch URGENTLY" which I duly did. The woman on the phone was really nice and when I filled her in on the sorry saga, told me she thinks "Nicky" may have "forgotten" to ring me and is trying to cover herself. Possibly. But "Nicky" when challenged a week ago on why no-one had contacted me, swore blind she'd spoken to me personally and updated me. I work in the insurance industry (no, really...) and have to have my phone switched off and locked away at all times to comply with Data Protection, under FSA regulations. Not having managed omnipresence yet, I could hardly have sat at my desk working and been somewhere else talking to "Nicky". I reminded her of this this evening and even pointed out that their calls should be digitally recorded so there would be a trace if she'd spoken to me. She got a little louder at this, and told me they had no interest in keeping hold of my car as it's not worth anything to them. Am offended now.
"Nicky" assured me (priceless) that my car is now a 'high priority' and will be delivered tomorrow morning (11th December 07) so we shall see. I asked for an hour window for delivery time, so I could try to be here, but she refused.
I got the head office address and I will be sending them my thoughts on this whole farce. But it gets better...
When I rang Drive Assist, Sarah told me (without me mentioning a name) that "Nicky" had told her on the 5th December, (before I found out that my car had actually been ready since 30th November), that she had spoken to me in person and that I was reluctant to collect my car. Drive Assist were naturally concerned at the thought that I may not want to relinquish the hire vehicle, and wrote me the letter.

So where does this all leave me? At the moment I'm still car-less. Having read some other comments on here, I shudder to think what state it will be in when I get do it back. And I have a reputation with Drive Assist as some kind of flake who doesn't want to give up their car. I feel like my reutation has been tarnished as some kind of flake. I'm furious they've blatantly lied to me and about me. And I really am at a loss as to what I can do about it.
In this day and age, we have the internet, Watchdog, regulatory bodies, etc., and yet I get the impression that this is nothing new.

Would I recommend them? I'd rather chew off my own foot!

Can anyone out there make any suggestions? Please?!

Re: Nationwide Crash Repair Centres - Absolutley Crap Service :thumbd:

Hi Guys, quite new to this but thought i would post my experience with Nationwide Crash repair Centres ?

I was told by my insurance company to send my car to them for repairs.

it was a brand new 08 hyundai Coupe siii 2.0

i done a bit of research after i sent it there and came across this forum which after reading some of your stories about them had me rather worried !!!

I waited two weeks for my car. Meanwhile i had a courtesy car which was in excellent conditon ( seat, Ibiza ).

I did'nt hear from them during these two weeks and had to chase them up myself.

But i have to say i had no bad experience with them at all. The staff were really freindly and the repairs to the car ( respray on rear passenger side and door handle and some dents also on the rear wing )

The job done was fine, no problems and overall i was extremely happy.

I live in Liverpool so it was a branch here. So i guess it depends on where you are. ?

As i say the only gripe i had was no one kept me informed as to the progress of my car. Although you can go on their website and put in your car Reg No and postcode and it shows you up to date information. ( at least it did for me anyway )

I had a phone call from a company the day after i picked my car up to ask what i thought about the service etc.

So all in all i was very satisfied with them.

Re: Nationwide Crash Repair Centres - Absolutley Crap Service :thumbd:

I am a bit worried about this company.

I drive a 2008 Volvo S40 1.6S which is on Motability and after a side on impact with damage to the passenger door and rear wheel arch my insurance company have booked the car in with this company.

I have had to use this company before for previous crash repairs and they were always okay with keeping me informed as to how the repairs were going but if I find anything wrong with the car once it's returned I will be contacting my insurance company and filing a complaint about the standard of repair.

And to top this all I find that the only courtesy car available is a Chevrolet Matiz SE which to be honest is a horrible car to drive considering I am used to driving the Volvo S40 so the sooner I can get the Volvo back the better. I wouldn't mind if the courtesy car was a Ford Fiesta, Fiat Punto, VW Golf, Mini One, Vauxhall Corsa etc.

Perhaps they should match the courtesy car to the type of car you normally drive in which case I would have a Ford Mondeo, Vauxhall Vectra, Skoda Octavia etc...

I will know if Nationwide crash repair centres are okay as they said they will call me on Wednesday with an update on how the repair is going and when I should get my car back. They called me today and on returning the call they said by early next week.

Is the accident your fault?

If not you should be able to get an equivilent car and cost covered by the other side. Failing that just think of the fuel you'll be saving and how much more environmmentally friendly your being

No matter who you are insured with you have the right to take it to your own prefered bodyshop, your insurers will not mention this as they have a deal with them, nationwide have always had a bad reputation, i know quite a few rough beaters who work for them in the manchester area, walk in and have a look around, they all speak polish Ant! sapphiregarage
