Hi looking for a decent FIAT specialist or independent. But someone who can read my ecu and plug it into the comp to do diagnostics.

My car is a 2000 Fiat Bravo HGT 155, and the cooling fan isnt coming on and need to get it fixed, pronto! As i've diagnosed all i can.

Live nr Mauchline, nr Ayr, so anywhere from here to Glasgow and up the coast etc is fine if they're decent!

Have checked all other stuff as shown here on the fiatboo forum:
http://www.network54.com/Forum/1563...156507851/Fan+relay+on+Bravo+and+fan+problems.

But as going back to uni on tues i need the car to be able to sit in the inevitable traffic jams of commuting.

Arnies in Ayr have good well trained diag techs, ask to arrange collection. If possible ask to see/speak to DET to let him know what you have done.Might have to book car in as usually very busy.

Yea they who couldnt tell me what one of the relays did that i think needs replacing! Hence my opinion of them has gone down to rock bottom! Is DET a person or a job title? If you recomend the person then i could go with that as getting a bit desperate!

Ok read your postings on that site you supplied link for...

Eper does not tell you what relay does what, once electrical parts are ordered they are non-returnable.....if it was therefore the wrong one would you still pay for it? That is why dealers like(if physically possible)you could bring the part in.This applies to alot of manufacturers not just Fiat.

Have you tried Bicketts in Kilmarnock?

Yea i had all 4 relays in hand so to speak, and they could identify 3 but not the last one, even the sparky couldnt identify it and none of the numbers off it were on there system. And yes if it was the wrong part i'd have paid for it, as you pay before you order! :(

nope not yet, i have 1 relay which isnt working and wiring diag says that it goes through 2 relays for fan, i refuse to pay £55 if they are going to turn round and tell me i need a £10 relay replaced! (which they cant source or idenitfy) So at the moment am going to replace the thermostat which is the only other component, but if i replace the thermostat it still might not work as it could be this unidentifyable relay, and i'll have 2 working thermostats! I'm gona call and order thermostat next week as i can always keep it as a spare. And if its not that then it MUST be the relay! And i'll need to see what FIAT UK can do about it - and the incompitence of arnold clark!

I can and will be bypassing the whole system and installing a manual switch if its this unidentifyable relay! As at the moment i cant even drive to uni, in case i get stuck sitting for ages in the dreaded rush hr i travel through every day!

All this stress & unnessary expense/guesswork,a simple hour diag would have solved this problem.

Your 2000 bravo's fan is ecu controlled & examiner would have this sorted no problem, end of the day your paying for the use of examiner & the technicians time not so much the relay...if thats what it is???

Yea i know but i like to work through proplems myself, as i've been told that if it was the ecu at fault then the engine managment light should have came on? No extra expense so far, and i know how to test lots of stuff i didnt have a clue about before.
