Just a little advice perhaps? I'm fuming and have no idea where to go!

I bought a car over 3 years ago on finance. The time came to either pay the lump sum of around £4,500 or swap the car in for a new one and continue paying monthly (PCP). As I'm still at University, I opted for this and got my new car, expecting £100 to be taken out of my account monthly.

Imagine my shock on the Friday just before the bank holiday - to find that my bank was in a big big £-. More than it already is. Ahh, FGA Finance had taken £4,500 or roundabouts - Obviously a !!!! up somewhere - I don't even have that car anymore! I was meant to be going to my friends final exhibition in Nottingham on Friday - Had to cancel obviously! They're lucky I wasn't due to go on holiday otherwise I would've gone absolutely mental.

Called the 24hr helpline for the bank who confirmed that the payment would most likely be bounced - And it was, so my bank account was back to 'normal,' but I could expect a fine from Natwest.

I called Fiat - The guy who originally dealt with me (who told me he drove a 'spackowagon' and horrified me) no longer works there. I have no doubt it was Fiats fault as the whole experience of getting the 2nd car was a nightmare.

However, after speaking to several people (I'm sure I've dealt with the entire sales team), it was thought not to be Fiat's fault, but a mix up at FGA. I called FGA, *sigh* who said there was no record of any contra-settlement on his fancy screen and it was in fact down to the garage to sort it out. Called Fiat again who obviously had no idea to do and said FGA won't tell him anything due to data protection...!

I'm lost. As far as I'm aware my contract was with Fiat and they outsourced said finance company so it should be them who sort out my problems and reimburse bank fee's phone calls and probably more for the harassment and time lost. Am I right in thinking the offer of free car mats would be a complete offence orrr?

Email the sales director ... [email protected]

I copied him into a problem with the customer service dept and got a phone call the next day from a really helpful lady called Kay in the Directors office.

Alternatively you can call them on 01753 511431 and ask for Kay
