I've done a bit of research today as our pair of Bravo MJ150 Sports are due their first service at 5000 and 9500 miles.

Pricing quoted follows:

Simonstone Bristol - £182 standard and £155 low mileage
Pewsham Garage (Chippenham) - £175 standard and £148 low mileage
Harry Dando's (Chipping Sodbury) - £132 low mileage
Motor Services (Chepstow) - £122 low mileage

The difference between standard and low mileage service is just the pollen filter which is £23.33 + VAT and the additional labour to fit it, so you can accurately guess the standard service price for Harry Dando's and Motor Services. Both types of service include oil and filter change and the usual checks so don't think you are skimping on these if you opt for the low mileage option. It all gets a bit more complicated when you have a DPF as the car tells you when the oil change is required.

Both cars were supplied by Pewsham Garage who ended up doing a deal for £109 for each (low mileage) service so you can guess where we're going (combining it with a family visit).

The two that stand out are Motor Services and Harry Dando's and both could both well be worth a look for anyone in the Bristol and surrounding area.

Recently purchased Fiat 500 from Dandos (see thread 'Credit where credits due') and give them a strong recomendation from our purchase experience. Simonstone wouldnt give us the time of day, Dandos couldn't do enough for us...ths difference was vast....

Just my experience...

I'd agree with the above.
Simonstone and I fell out this week over servicing costs.
£60 for a set ofplugs I can get retail for £12????
Reading through the service history of the car we bought from
there, the previous owner got herself rinsed repeatedly by them.
I mean? Who replaces the oil filter but leaves the old oil in there???
Simonstone that's who!!! Never heard of such a thing!!!

Without trying to put the people of Chepstow down :p....

Prices will always be cheaper (or economically should be) on the other side of the river compared to Bristol.

I've never heard of Harry Dandos though. I get my car serviced at my local Indy garage but might give their parts department a shout for replacement heater vent trim if its still possible to get them for GPs
