Right, well after seeing the gta4 trailer I realise I need to go next gen :(

and I'm thinking an Xbox 360, as its cheaper then a PS3 and atm, price counts ;)

anyway, I dont get all this Core v Premium stuff. I hear people berate others for getting the Core system, but is it really worth the extra money for some wireless jiggery pokery

and, how much am I looking at paying? CeX gives £120 for an Unboxed Discounted Core sytem, but then i can get a new one for £197 :chin:

There must be somewhere cheaper for one  I dont care what it looks likes, as long as it'll play the games! :D

Buy the Premium pack, as its alot better value. For example you get a wireless controller(y) And a 20gb harddrive which is needed to be able to play on live and download and save videos, demos etc.

Your best bet is to buy new, as the 360 can be a bit tempermental, or you might get lucky like I did. I had a launch day console and had no probs at all. Couple of online freezes, but I put that down to the servers being rammed on R6V, which I'm missing:cry:

If you dont want to play online, get the core.

But, the core doesnt come with a storage device, so in order to save games you'll have to get a memory unit.

The premium pack contains (which the core doesnt)
Harddrive (20gb) - £60-£70
Wireless control (Wired In Core) - £20-£30?
Wired Live Headset - £15
5m Ethernet Cable
Chrome finish dvd tray

On balance, is more cost effective to get the premium. Also with the harddrive, it shortens load times as it cache's on the harddrive.

You also need the harddrive to play backwards compatible games.

well, i dont have any way of playing online, so basically the only things up on it are the wireless controller, and the harddrive

wires, pah! im only 2-3ft away from the consol, does it matter  and the hard drive is £55 second hand so not worth the extra I guess. unless theres any reason Im missing :chin:

Which ever one you plump for, buy brand. That way you get a warranty, so if you do get teh three redlights from hell, you'll be covered.(y)

12 months though have been some cases where they have extended it.
if you want to play xbox 1 games in the 360 you need a hard drive.
so many people end up getting the HD and a ireless controller after getting a core 360.
remember you can switch the 360 on from the controller as well so wireless is nice ;)
if you can hold out and wait for the elite to come out then 2nd hand prices will drop,
