your xbox doesnt have hdmi so not a big issue

It uses Component cables or you can use a PC monitor and get a VGA cable to give you HD.

From what I have seen, your going to need to spend around £400 to get a half decent HD tele, but at that low price you will need to be careful to make sure it has a high enough native resolution to give you proper 1080i or maybe even 720p instead of an upscaled image. You'll also need to look out for the black white ratio and a good contrast, otherwise the picture will look all grey and washed out.

what about this one? will it be good for the xbox? :

That covers all the bases pretty well actually, the 800:1 contrast ratio will give quite good black to white distinction, not perfect but good for tv's in this price bracket. LCD is not as good as plasma for that aspect anyway so that's perfectly acceptable.
The only thing I couldn't find on that was connection types, it mentioned the PC interface with HDMI and VGA but no mention of what other connections were available, no component sockets or even a scart socket if you have an old video or dvd player etc you want to plug in.
See if you can find any more info on that tele's connections as it looks good (y)

this is the same one here on a different site, it says it has two scarts and one component, is that average?

2 scarts one component and the HDMI input, that's perfectly acceptable, not too often you get 2 scarts actually so that's good if you have a few older things to connect.
I also have a joytech high def AV switching unit for about 7 extra component sockets, just in case :D

I'd say go for that TV mate (y)

ordered :D so ill let you know how it goes!! do i need to buy any extra leads to connect my 360 to it? i bought the premium 360 package.

;)
In that case you should have the component cables in the 360 box. They are red, green and blue. There will be audio cables attached to that also, they should be white and red IIRC. A common mistake is the put the red audio cable in the hole where the red component goes, just make sure you seperate the audio from the video cables (y) .

I think it may even be the cable you are using now ? you just switch it to HDTV on the piece that goes into the 360.
