Who's slagging it off though ?

As far as I can see everyone is giving an honest hands on opinion and we are all entitled to do that. I'll get another PS3 some time because I am a gamer and I like to own all machines whatever my preferences but I have given my reasons for not wanting or needing one just yet.

i agree there are a lot of fps available for the 360 and i cant really fault any of them. they are my most played games with racing games being second. these have always been my most played games on any console tho. i have never played the ps3 and until i do i cant comment. and unless you are playing the same games on both systems ie cod3 i would say it is difficult for anyone to compare the two. to resolve this just release f1 on the 360 and see the difference?

by the way, anyone manage to play the ps3 pre-release? 360's were in game stores and playable a while before release! would say that was a mistake by sony!

i go in often to look at what i cant afford and still havent seen a playable one either and thats not just game, its any game selling shop!!!

Not impressed, All the games that available cross platform look better on the 360.
In practice, the PS3 is not as powerful as the 360, although on paper it seems to be moreso, due to the cell, what does what and how much is reserved for non game use. Lack of dedicated memory space etc...

I may pick one up when they come down to a sensible price, but you can't argue the toss over the blue ray player, as all current gen BR will be obsolite by october this year.

You may have to pay for XBL, but its good and FoM is not a patch on GoW.

my 2p. I'm not a fanboy for either camp, I like to choose my products through informed decisions. Not by going "ooh its sony I must have it, or M$ is bad, mmkay?"

There's actually an interesting interview with John Carmack on why the PS3 is so difficult to program for, and to me it sounds like a big faux pas.

The 360 has true multithreading, meaning you just send what you want to do to the CPU, and it sorts out which bit needs to do what. On the Cell, you have to program what each section needs to do. I think it will be a good long time before any of the processing power is actually harnessed.


PS3 = Dreamcast.

problem is all the cross platform games so far were 1st released on the 360.once we see some games developed for all platforms thwn we can compare 360/ps3 specs/games

The 360 is so popular with the developers because it's just like a PC when it comes to writing the games, M$ made sure of that fact and it's paid off, it takes half the time to do the same game on each system so which one are the game devs going to prefer, easy answer, much more profit in the 360 as far less time spent on messing about.

Indeed, F1 is sadly lacking on the 360, and its my most played game on the PS3, damn that ill handling tail happy Red Bull.
