well to be fair it is shocking. some people are on their 6th console. these things happen sometimes (as fiat owners we all understand :D), but how well the vendor deals with it is what matters most, and microsoft havent dealt with it very well so far.

I am still really annoyed about M$ taking my hard drive from the console I had repaired when they promised they would return it, I have about 7 games I no longer want to play because I had almost finished them and I got a replacement console with a new HDD which lost all my saves and there was apparently no fault with the HDD itself. I asked for my old HDD back and there was nothin could be done..... BULLSH*T M$.

If any of these new 360's I have in the house give me the ring of death I'll contact a solicitor and get my money back and then some. (n)

I'm gonna tempt fate here:( and I'll be eating my words,,,,,

I'm still on my original launch console, got it 9th December 2005. I have the occasional freeze after about 4 hours constant play, about once a fortnight.

It lays flat, not upright. And the PSU sits on the floor with no obstructions front or rear. When it was upright, the drive was very noisy and it crashed regulary.

I would recommend to any 360 owner, lay it flat, kepp it clear if poss and keep the PS well ventilated.

would keeping it flat, in a tv unit, along with amp, dvd etc, compromise the airflow? i only ask as all the other equipment i have has been perfectly happy for years in one, and i don't fancy having to make special arrangements for just one item when halo 3 comes along...

Each unit is on a separate shelf with plenty of airflow around them. This seems to work fine, with no probs.
