Games-wise, theres not a lot of decent ones out at this moment in time, VF5 is out in Feb I think...just looking forward to playing Winning Eleven and Metal Gear and watching some Blu-Rays.

it surprises me M$ didnt use the xbox ! modded consoles as more of a base.
xbox media centre is a great program and whilst M$ obviously doesnt want you ripping games to the hard drive, a much improved playback format compatibility would have been welcomed.
sony seem to have pushed on from this focus looking at the dash design
nice touches such as the dash playing min thumbnail versions of HD moves of the hard drive etc shows a bit of thought.
makes the 360 look very 'yank'

I heard that a few months back now, but I didn't see which machine would get the rights to have it first, if it's out on the PS3 before the 360 I'll be forced to purchase the sony machine, to sit alongside the 360 and Wii of course.custard said:

looks like were at the stage now where coin op conversions are looking better than the coin ops now!

just remember until the game is seen running to take screen shots as untrustworthy.
many including sony are guilty of using pre rendered images for advertising.

TBH it all a bit too close to call as far as graphics go now, so it's all down to the gameplay. I mean, look at DOA4 on the 360 here and that game has been doing the rounds for a while now, and PG3 has stunned since day one with Forza also on the horizon.
The one thing VF has over all the other fighters including Tekken, is gameplay. It's more focused towards the true gamer, someone who wants to have a challenge and it's your own fault (or the sony pads) if you can't pull off a move.
Anyone for the full "Stun palm of doom" from Akira, the first time I pulled that off was one of the best moments in gaming for me.

havent played a VF game in years.been soul calibur for me in recent times
I think i'll stick to my 360 for now, i've read about sony having a lot of problems with backward compatability with ps1 and ps2 titles, theres supposed to be some audio bugs with it, also i think the console looks dated and the Power supply unit is built into the console which cant be good for the cooling or weight of the console. i think microsoft had a better idea when they made it external, which sony also did with the ps2 slimline.,.,.,
someone also mentioned about backward compatability being a problem on the 360, the thing is the vast majority of top titles on the original xbox are compatable and microsoft only released an update for the 360 this month which includes another bunch of compatable games.,.,
With the problems that sony have been having in recent years i dont think i'll be rushing out to buy one, after the "exploding" laptop batteries, really SH*T mp3 players and im on my 3rd PSP and thats not even counting the notorious "DEAD PIXEL SYNDROME" they suffer with,.,.
only attraction i can see for me is the next GRAN TURISMO,.,.
