To be fair, the memory sticks are pretty good. I have a 1GB one in my SonyEricsson K750i and its very fast to transfer data to/from. And the phone is awesome, as I'm sure anyone who has one or has used one will agree.
Fair enough, I see your point about them creating their own media for everything, but the memory sticks/minidisc etc. are certainly not crap.
btw I'm not a Sony fanboy Never owned a Playstation, and besides my phone and stereo, I can't think of any other Sony products I own
In relation to the consoles, don't buy a console because they say they can do 1000000000000000000 teraflops of calculations a second, and that they can make photo-realistic graphics etc. That seems to be the marketing strategy of MS and Sony, and a lot of developers have turned away from the PS3 now because of the Cell processor. Its so complicated and expensive to program for that most companies will end up losing money on their games. The same goes for the 360 and its multiple core processors. Finally, I was reading an article about the projected cost to develop a game for the 3 next-gen systems;
XBox 360 - Around £2million
PS3 - Around £2million
Nintendo Revolution - Around £200,000
The NR is so cheap to develop because the system is based on the Gamecube. Sure, it won't crunch the same numbers as the other 2, but the numbers that Sony and MS talk about are like ICE companies telling you their Sub is 2000W or whatever, when it's only 200W RMS. The systems will never perform to those levels, and the in-game graphics will never be able to match up to the trailers they show you. The NR is like a highly modified Cinq with a turbo on it up against a Standard 2.0l saloon (360 or PS3). Sure the saloon looks bigger and quotes big number, but the Cinq would give it a run for its money I'm sure (I'm not sure. I don't know much about modifying engines and whether the Cinq would actually beat the saloon, but I'm using it as an example ).
So anyway, in short I shall be holding on for the Revolution (Nintendo fan boy)
